Customers say: True professional

"I highly recommend Topline Exteriors to anyone who needs roof repair or a new roof. Jared and his team were diligent, highly experienced and professional throughout my roof project. Communication from them throughout the project was excellent. They repaired the storm damage to my roof from a fallen tree in an excellent manner. In the process alerted me to several other areas of my roof that had been damaged over time due to my roof's age. I decided to have them replace my entire roof. They did so in a timely manner and I couldn't be happier with the results. Also, the price was fair. A job well done. 5 stars plus! Thank you Jared and your team!"

"406 Construction came to fix my roof after it started leaking. All I had to do was turn in my claim with insurance and they took care of Everything else. They showed up on a Monday to start tearing shingles off and had the new shingles on by the middle of the next day. They did both my house and Garage. And when it was all said and done, they totally cleaned up after themselves. I definitely recommend them if you’re needing your roof replaced."

"After contacting at least 1/2 dozen roofers who either never responded or showed up and never heard from them again, Rick was recommended highly and so I gave him a call. Within minutes he called me back, was there the same day, and now, two weeks later, my new roof is installed and it is wonderful! The roofing team got it all done in one day and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend Montana Construction - Rick Herrera for any project with your home! Great service!"

"It was pure joy and so refreshing working with Anthony and Melissa. The roof on our house and garage needed to be replaced after the epic wind storm of Dec 2025. Anthony is fair, enthusiastic, and genuinely wants to help people with their roofing needs. We are so happy with the results and so happy we trusted him to fix an ugly roof and make it pretty again. Give Anthony at AMP Construction a call. You will be glad you did!"

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Wooden roofs require regular maintenance, are prone to rot and mold, and are frequently the target of insect infestations. Natural wood is also excellent at absorbing and storing moisture—not a positive. In climates where the weather shifts dramatically, the wood can also crack, split, or warp.

Yes, you can walk on torch down roofing. It is durable and tear-resistant enough to handle that kind of low-level wear. Remember that torch down roofing can get uncomfortably hot in certain climates. Dark roofing absorbs heat and can burn bare feet. If you want to use a roof deck for lounging, you may want to install a lighter-colored PVC membrane.

Costs depend on material, labor, and additional features like underlayment or insulation.

Yes, an underlayment is required for metal roofs, especially when installed over an indoor residential living space. This underlayment acts as a protective barrier between the metal roofing and the roof deck. Common materials include tar, asphalt felt, or woven synthetic polymers. Depending on local building codes, existing shingles in good condition may also suffice. A quality underlayment is crucial as it provides protection against water intrusion, improves energy efficiency through insulation, helps absorb sound, and ultimately extends the lifespan of your roof.

Architectural shingles typically last between 20 and 30 years. While some manufacturers provide warranties for 30 to 50 years, particularly for extreme weather, achieving such a long lifespan is uncommon. The actual life of your shingles can be shorter if you live in an area prone to strong winds, hailstorms, or other severe weather. To avoid the risk of roof failure and costly water damage from leaks, it is recommended to replace your roof before it reaches the end of its expected life. Scheduling regular roof inspections every few years is a good way to assess your roof's condition and determine the best timeline for replacement.
