Customers say: Quality work

"I had a metal roof installed for the same quote as shingles. Only negative was lack of communication. I never knew exactly when they were going to show up. They did extra touches for a great finished project. Highly recommended."

"The entire experience with Dabella was very professional. The sales representative (Andrew) did a great job of discussing the problems with our old roof and providing information about the new Debella roof system. There was no high pressure sales pitch and he was always very pleasant. The work crew showed up promptly, as scheduled, at 7 am and stayed with the project finishing in just one day. Our new Debella roof looks great and should last us a lifetime."

"J R  fought for me with my insurance company who I've been arguing with for over a year and a half on getting my roof fixed. You could see hail marks on my roof, but unless they were star-shaped it wasn't hail damage. I was almost ready to contact my attorney, until I met J R.  They looked the roof over and confirmed it was definitely hail damage. He spoke to the adjustor's supervisor and the insurance president and managed to get them to cover the damages!

The roof is no easy one to repair as part of it is three stories high and another was two stories. No one was injured considering how difficult the job could be.

If you are having problems with your insurance company working on your roof, J R is the contractor you want fighting for you!"

"He did an amazing job putting a new roof on my house, absolutely loved the work that was done. He was very kind and professional. Even working by himself he got it done in an about a week. I will definitely be hiring him again if I need any other work done to my house!"

"Eder and his crew from Light Roofing did an excellent job roofing my house. They responded to my request for a bid very promptly, the price was very fair, and they got to work as soon as the weather allowed, finishing in just two days. They obtained a building permit, presented evidence of both workers comp and liability insurance, and listened to and accommodated my explanation of the unique details related to my house (e.g. flat portion, roof jack penetrations, etc.). The roof looks very nice, it lowered my insurance premium by almost 20%, and -- as of the first snowfall -- no longer leaks. I would very much recommend Light Roofing to other homeowners. If you would like to see my new roof, contact Eder at Light Roofing and he'll tell you where it is."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

Depending on the type of damage your roof shingles have, you may be able to simply repair them without having to replace them. However, if there are more than a few to repair, replacement is likely the easier option. You may only need to replace a few of them. Repair shingles by applying roofing sealant directly under the shingle's damage and then directly over it.

Thatched roofs are expensive for two main reasons: high labor costs and low supply of available roofers. The labor is more intensive for a thatched roof than other roof materials, so your contractor will work longer and charge more for the installation. There are also few professionals with the specialized skills and experience to install thatched roofs. Since the supply of available professionals is low, the cost of compensation is high.

Roofers most often use nails to fasten roofing shingles and other roofing materials. Nails have more holding power than staples and offer better weather resistance and longevity. However, it is possible to use staples instead of nails when installing a roof. Staples are less expensive, but not as high-quality.

A roof's ability to handle snow depends on its strength and the snow's weight, as wet snow is much heavier than dry, fluffy snow. While designs in snowy regions often allow for 35 to 50 pounds per square foot, a general guideline is that a typical roof can withstand about four feet of fresh snow, two feet of packed snow, or just one inch of ice. Factors like the roof's age, slope, and support structure also affect its capacity; newer, sloped roofs generally hold more weight than older, flat ones. Ice and ice dams add significant, dangerous weight. Because capacity varies, it is best to contact a professional roofing contractor or the original builder to determine the maximum snow load for your specific home.

Ridge vents can last as long as your roof does. As long as your ridge vents were installed correctly by a qualified professional, they will need very little upkeep. Inspecting your ridge vents annually to ensure they aren’t cracked, clogged, or leaking will help prolong their lifespan.
