"They did a great job. Suggested the plants I should use and made other suggestions about my yard. I was especially grateful that they were so careful to clean up after themselves. I would certainly recommend them to my friends.."

Small jobs welcome

"Superior Lawn care is the real deal! They came to my home and spent time listening to what I wanted done! I also asked them for suggestions since they seemed very knowledgeable. Bo and Charles came and Bo called me the next day with an estimate. My husband and I discussed it and called Bo back and told him we very pleased with the estimate. He set up a time to get started. Charles and his son and another gentleman came and did an EXCELLENT job! They worked so hard and were very nice and friendly, as well as professional! I ð ¯ % recommend them and believe me I have hired many people previously and no one has even come close to doing the job these guys did! And I must mention Bo gave me an estimate and that is EXACTLY what the end charge was! You will not regret using Superior Lawn Care! I will definitely continue to use them!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.

Trimming your palm trees once or twice per year keeps them healthy and robust. Caring for palm trees includes cutting off brown leaves to prevent wildfires and pathway obstruction. However, you don’t want to over-trim the palm tree. Cutting too many branches off will weaken the tree and prevent future growth. And it’s essential to have a strong, healthy palm tree during hurricane season to prevent safety risks or property damage.

There are a few instances in which removing a tree is the best option. You might do this if the tree looks to be a major danger—potentially falling onto your home, your car, or other parts of your property—or it’s diseased beyond repair. A tree that is growing too close to your house might need to be removed to prevent mold growth.

A tree can split because of high winds, a change in temperature, or from an infestation or tree disease. All of these factors can overlap, making a single cause difficult to pinpoint. While winter storms are some of the most common causes for a tree to split, it can also happen because of termites or rot.

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but it is generally not recommended unless specific conditions are met. You should only consider this project if the tree is small (e.g., under 4-5 inches in diameter and short enough that you don't need a ladder to reach the branches), and you are experienced in handling a chainsaw. The tree must also be located far from any power lines, fences, homes, or other structures. Even for small trees, the work can be dangerous, and it's always advisable to have a spotter to ensure the tree falls correctly and no branches fall on you.

For any tree that is large, requires a ladder to access, or is near electrical lines or structures, you should always hire a professional. Attempting to remove a large tree yourself is extremely dangerous, poses a risk of serious injury, and could result in significant damage to your property.

Before any tree removal, it's also important to check your local and state regulations to ensure the tree is not historic or otherwise protected by your city.
