"It was time for our home’s year termite retreat, so we contacted Tabor Termite and Pest Control. Mike Tabor took my call and I explained what I needed. We agreed on a day/date for Mike to come and look at our property and provide an estimate. On the day of the appointment, Mike promptly texted and informed me he was on his way. Once at our home, Mike did a thorough inspection and provided an estimate for the requested service. He explained, in detail, what he would do and how he would do it. We agreed on a date/day for him to do the work, and again, Mike was very prompt in arriving and completing the retreat of our property. We paid for his services and he left our termite warranty and detailed invoice with us. We could not be more satisfied and happy with the customer service we received from Tabor Termite and Pest Control. We will definitely use them in the future and will gladly recommend Mike and Tabor Termite and Pest Control."

"Excellent communication with termite inspector. Marketing department for pest control was prompt in addressing my request and patient in answering all my questions about related fees for service. Both the termite inspector and pest control technician were on-time for appointment and were thorough in completing requested work. I am satisfied with evaluation of my property and the discussion of my needs and options for termite control. I will continue to work with on establishing a termite protection plan."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

In Madison, if you notice pests reappearing within weeks, new termite frass, or fresh fire ant mounds, prior treatments may have failed. Water intrusion after storms can wash away barriers, making reapplication necessary. Listen for renewed scratching in walls or spot new droppings in hidden areas. Persistent moisture or shifting soil can also undermine past pest prevention, signaling it’s time for a follow-up service.

Helpful?

For pest control in Madison, keep a sturdy caulk gun, weatherproof sealant, and a bright headlamp for attic or crawl space inspections. A soil probe helps check for termite activity around foundations. Store granular fire ant bait and mosquito larvicide for outdoor use, and consider a humidity gauge for monitoring damp areas. Rodent-proof mesh and a hand trowel are also useful for sealing and treating entry points.

Helpful?

During pest control in Madison, you may encounter extra costs for repairing hidden termite tunnels, treating crawl spaces, or removing nests from attics. Local weather can lead to moisture buildup, requiring additional dehumidification or vapor barriers. After heavy storms, pest barriers may need reapplication, and cleaning out pests from ductwork or insulation is sometimes necessary for complete home pest prevention.

Helpful?

In Madison, homes are especially prone to pest issues due to the region’s humidity and clay-rich soil. Look for signs like mud tubes along foundations, hollow-sounding wood, ant trails near patios, or increased mosquito activity near standing water. Even subtle evidence—such as unexplained insect wings or faint scratching noises—means it’s wise to schedule a pest inspection to prevent larger infestations.

Helpful?

In Madison, live insects, droppings, or chewed insulation indicate pest control is needed. If you notice water stains, sagging floors, or shifting doors, address possible leaks or structural issues first. Cracks in brickwork or gaps around windows—common with local soil movement—can allow pests inside, so sealing these areas and coordinating repairs with pest prevention is often the best approach.
