They were prompt and did what they said they would.

Repair person came out and told us that the gas valve was faulty, and it would cost $700 to repair the unit and $790 for new gas logs. Apparently, instead of testing the existing thermocouple, the repairman cut the existing one out and tested a new one that did not work either, resulting with the diagnosis that the gas valve was faulty. He left us with the unit disassembled and a broken thermocouple (that was not faulty). We looked online and purchased a new gas valve for $115 and new thermocouple for $25 and fixed it ourselves. It works like it was new. I would not use them again.

We could not get our gas log fireplace to stay on. Germantown Fireplace came when they said they would and quickly assessed the problem...(it was just dirty) and said that's usually what causes our problem. He moved very fast which was good, but was not terribly friendly and was eager to move on to the next call. We appreciated the quick response and reasonable price. Interactive manner could have been better on the part of the serviceman.

When I scheduled the appointment, was told that someone would be at the house between 9 -11 on Saturday morning. The technician (owner) called that morning to confirm and arrived about 9:45. He performed the service quickly, no mess. Was very pleasant.

We are very pleased with our gas log. We had actually shopped the area for some time looking for a quality product and comparing prices and decided to go with them. We think they did a great job. We have had no problems and there is a key you turn in the fireplace that will shut the gas off when not in use. I feel it is great way to have a fireplace in your home.

It has been over a year and everything has been fine. There has been no odor of any gas at all. I thought that they did a great job. I think our gas logs are much cleaner than wood burning. It looks really nice and still give off heat without the fuss of smoke or cleaning up fireplace ashes. You do have to re-light the pilot light if it goes out. I don't remember the price as it has been a while since it was done.

Germantown Fireplace does the annual check for my air conditioning and heating. We have a service contract for $200 yearly. I have been using this company for years. I have no reason to switch. I am very happy with everything about the company. I would recommend them.
