"Very prompt to answer and provide services. They came out to bid our dry wall water damage. At the same time, we were waiting on our well guy. They checked out our well pump and pressure tank free of charge. Today we called them urgently as an additional broken pipe was discovered under our older home, they came out asap and somehow shimmied thru the tiny space and fixed our leak. These guys deliver and for a reasonable price."

"The service i received from Greggs Foundation repair was outstanding. They installed a sump as well as a new drain to prevent my basement from flooding. I needed help and i needed it fast. I sent them a last minute message on their Facebook page, they showed up the same day and went to work. "Perfect job! First time they came out they determined the problem was in the gasline encased in stonework. Recommended getting a stonemason to chip away the rock, expose the line. Lined up the stonemason and phoned Jamison to make the appointment. Owner of company told me he would personally come out at the time of the stonemason to make sure no more stone than necessary removed. He did so. After rock removed, one of Jamison's plumbers came out, replaced the gasline (obstructed w/years of corrosion) and replace the ignition switch, reassembled the burner and ignited the pit. This company has first class workers and know what they are doing! Highly recommend for complicated jobs, such as this one! Thanks!

"Our technician, Dameyan Jackson, called the night before the day of service to let me know the time that he would be here to service our system. On Friday, he called to let me know that he was available to come earlier than scheduled, if I would like. He arrived shortly after the phone call, came in and quickly recognized that the pump had failed. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I was very pleased with his service and look forward to him returning to install a new pump."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to drain wastewater and solid waste into the municipal sewer system or a septic tank. For fixtures below this level, like those in a basement, gravity cannot move the waste upward. The ejector pump provides the force needed to pump the sewage up to the main line. Without one, wastewater from below-ground fixtures would back up, potentially causing a sewage overflow and flooding. If all of your plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity is sufficient and an ejector pump is not needed.

Sump pumps remove excess water from the lowest point of your home, which prevents flooding. When a sump pit fills with water, a sump pump pushes that water outside of the basin and into an exterior discharge pipe. From there, the water flows away from your home, so it doesn’t damage your foundation.

A sewage ejector pump is necessary if you have any plumbing fixtures, such as a bathroom, laundry room, or sink, located below the level of your home's main sewer line. Standard plumbing relies on gravity to move wastewater and solid waste to the municipal sewer or septic tank. However, for fixtures located below grade (e.g., in a basement), gravity is not sufficient.

The purpose of a sewage ejector pump is to actively pump this wastewater and solid waste upward into the main sewer line. Without an ejector pump in this situation, wastewater would have no way to exit and would eventually back up, causing a sewage overflow or flooding in your basement. If all of your home's plumbing is on the main floor or higher, gravity can handle the drainage, and an ejector pump is not needed.

The most common cause of a clogged sump pump is natural debris buildup. As water enters the sump pit, it can carry small pieces of debris that build up over time, or the debris can get caught in the filter. If you forget to cover the pit after cleaning the sump pump and pit, debris can also collect in the pit. Corrosion on the metal discharge pipe can also clog the pump. Additionally, if your pipes freeze, it can prevent water from draining properly and cause a clog.

Sump pump repairs are typically handled by plumbers or waterproofing specialists who are experienced in handling basement and foundation-related issues. Plumbers can address issues like clogs, electrical problems, and mechanical failures, and waterproofing professionals may be ideal if the sump pump is part of a larger drainage or waterproofing system.

Some people may also call on a general handyperson for minor sump pump repairs. However, for complex problems, hiring a certified plumber or waterproofing expert ensures the work is done correctly and prevents further issues.
