"These guys are good! From the day we requested an estimate until the time the work was completed they were everything you could ask for when contracting a major home job. We dealt with their representative Jeff Carroll throughout the entire process and he was extremely professional keeping us apprised of when work would happen and what it would entail. Work crews were polite and made sure that the area was clean and orderly prior to leaving each day. Despite some extra work being needed to replace some worn/damaged areas that could not be seen until the prior roof was removed, the final price of the job was very close to the original estimate and, I believe, more than fair. Their reputation as the best in the Lake area is well deserved and I cannot recommend them strongly enough."

"I needed a roof repair and was tired of having to patch up every other week it felt like. I had some quotes to replace the roof and luckily I found Ryan who helped me save 1/2 of the cost on a roof replacement! Then with his services coming with a warranty just made sense."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The principal, common, and auxiliary rafters are the most frequently used types of rafters. Principal rafters are large and typically appear toward the edges of the roof. Common rafters are smaller than principal rafters. Some people may use a mix of common and principal rafters. The auxiliary rafter is not common, but it provides extra reinforcement for a principal rafter on a large building.

The lifespan of a torch down roof depends on the number of layers installed. A single-ply system typically lasts between 10 and 15 years, while a multi-layer system with two or three layers can last from 15 to 25 years. Although a multi-layer option may be more expensive upfront, it provides a longer service life. Warranties often reflect this, with about 12 years for a one-ply system and 15 years for a two-ply system. For context, this lifespan is shorter than other common roofing materials like wood or asphalt shingles, which typically last 20 to 30 years, with high-quality versions lasting up to 50 years.

Yes, but it won't be as effective as installing it as part of a new roof because it won't be as water-resistant. However, a drip edge installed after the fact is better than no drip edge at all.

Yes, replacing a roof is always a good investment if the current one is in poor condition. Not only will it preserve the structural integrity of the home, but it can also add value at the time of sale. The average return on investment for a new roof is between 48% and 61%. Prospective buyers are also more likely to purchase a home with a recently replaced roof since that means they won’t need to worry about that expense in the near future.

Roof underlayment usually lasts as long as the roofing material that covers it, as it’s not directly exposed to the elements. In most cases, roofing companies will replace the underlayment each time they install a new roof. In some cases, particularly with slate, clay, or certain metal roofs that can last 50 to 100 years, your underlayment may require replacement within that timeframe, especially if you start to notice roof leaks.
