"This was a complex retrofit tankless water heater installation and out of 30+ companies called and solicited for this project, Brett and Dunn's HVAC was the only company to 1) entertain performing the installation correctly (gas line sizing and calculations), 2) had prior experiencing working with tankless heaters, and 3) took the time to work with me on a long list of specifications. These are bulletproof systems if the installation is done correctly and Dunn/Brett took the time to ensure the install was on point and everything went smoothly. They also installed a softener and filtration system. Everything went well from bid to install and I highly recommend Brett and Dunn's - will use again as I could not be more pleased!"

"Had new hvac, furnace, and hwh installed. Furnace had a couple of air leaks between a coil and furnace which I fixed myself. Hvac was spot on. Hwh failed first inspection, but was corrected in same day. For the premium price paid, these issues should not happen. Quality 4.5 because of these issues, same goes for value. Customer service is very good. They are very professional, work looks very good, clean worksite afterwards. I would recommend, but don't think about negotiating price with them. Their labor is very high."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Did much research on companies 1st b/c I was aware of scams with duct cleaning. But this company is very legitimate professional - techs and receptionist, all the way around! Top quality service! On time and will answer any questions and explain it all in great detail? very polite and professional. And yes, they will take photos throughout if you want to see exactly the differences of before and after. I had bought a 1959 home which had never been cleaned. See my before/after photos. Before, I kept having to wipe off my counter tops a few times a day because they always felt gritty. After the duct cleaning, they stay clean now - A HUGE DIFFERENCE! "Frankly, I rarely give reviews but this encounter warranted it. Here we go: On a 100 degree, sweltering Saint Louis afternoon, my 23 year old HVAC system finally called it quits. I knew I was looking at a full replacement and a repair would simply cost more money in the long run as the replacement was imminent. I did my due diligence and got multiple bids. I contacted John Hively and he said he could make it out that night (it was already 6:00 when I contacted him!) He showed up just 30 minutes later and did HIS due diligence checking all the components of the HVAC system before offering his diagnosis, verdict, and the cost of parts and labor. He was incredibly knowledgeable and his proposal was very reasonable considering the extent of the project and he was very competitive against the several other bids I had received - not to mention his warranties were unrivaled. Now, this is where the story gets really good... Because of the heat and my staying at a hotel because my house was 86 degrees, he rushed the appointment... While everyone else was giving a 7-14 day approximation, he was back the next day to drop of equipment and then the following day for the install. From 72 hours of making the call I had cool air again. He estimated a 4-6 hour completion time and his *extremely professional* crew was done in 5. They gave me a run-down on maintenance procedures, double checked everything to make sure the system was functioning as it should be, and were on their way. I can confidently state that John Hively provided the best residential service of ANY kind I've received since being a homeowner. I won't even waste time with bids on any HVAC needs again because Hively Heating and Cooling is my new go-to HVAC service provider. Do yourself a favor and call John. - A very happy homeowner"

"We had our HVAC duct work cleaned as well as the dryer vent. Obviously, it is kind of hard to tell how good the job was done, since it is all enclosed. However, we feel from talking with the technician & seeing what did come out, they did a good job. Also, they were very reasonable for the service. Bob, the owner, explained everything regarding the service very well. They were on time, actually a little early. They were very efficient in getting the job done. Will use them again, maybe this time for carpet cleaning. We also try to use locally owned small businesses, compared to the large companies."
