"I had them install two outside spigots and two internal shutter valves to those spigots. I also requested a bid on a new water heater and some shut off valves under my sink. They were prompt in their response to get me a quote. The price was fair and the work was done quickly, effectively and professionally. They are great to work with very responsive, fair priced and easy to do business with I would certainly use them for all my plumbing needs."

"They were excellent with communication and showed up when they said they would. My dishwasher was a little tricky to install and took materials that didn't come with it. The two technicians were fine with that, got the correct hardware and got it installed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!"

"Terrific is an understatement! After being told by my HVAC company that they could not install a new hot water heater for 3 days, TJ at Metro Plumbing went above and beyond to make sure we had hot water before guests arrived the following day. He tracked down the unit we wanted, came to the house on a Saturday and he and his associate worked in tight quarters to the get the unit installed. It is no wonder he has been in business for 15 years! If you want a job done well at a fair price, I highly recommend KC Metro Plumbing! Thank you, TJ!"

"Joel Bailey, the technician, did a thorough check of our existing furnaces in the building and made acceptable recommendations on how we should proceed. He was professional and personable. We enjoyed working with him."

"I was in need of a new HVAC system and they provided a quote same day. They listened to what I wanted and didnâ t try to oversell anything that wasnâ t needed like the big companies. Quality work for a price that was way below all the other companies. I would highly recommend Dadâ s Heating and Cooling to anyone."

"Erick and his crew took out our garbage disposal, dishwasher, and replaced the oven hood in the kitchen. They replaced the old wooden baseboards (which had mold) and toilets in the bathroom. They also installed a water softener and replaced our water heater. Erick and his workmen were extremely kind and polite, being perfect gentlemen while in our condo. While installing the new toilet when they noticed an issue that could cause water to leak to the unit below our Erick sought to remedy the situation so that would not occur and his crew worked late to fix the crack and install the new toilet. Erick was flexible and was willing to incorporate any changes we needed. When the work was completed, Erick only charged us the amount of his original quote. We plan to contact Arcadia in the future for additional work we need to have done."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

In most cases, repairing a radiator is more affordable than replacing it. A typical repair may cost between $100 and $200, while a replacement can average $1,500, with a range of $250 to $2,500 depending on the unit type. Radiator issues are often simple fixes for a professional, such as a blown fuse, malfunctioning thermostat, or a loose valve, and can take less than an hour. However, if the long-term costs of fixing the radiator are higher than replacement, it's better to get a new model. It is recommended to consult a heating expert to diagnose the problem and determine the best solution for your situation.

No, boilers and water heaters are not interchangeable because they serve different primary functions. Boilers are used for central heating systems, providing hot water or steam to heat your home. In contrast, a water heater's purpose is to supply hot water for daily household use, such as for faucets and showers. A water heater alone cannot supply the warm water or steam needed for a central heating system.

While they are not interchangeable, it is common to have both a boiler and a water heater. In fact, a conventional boiler often works best when a water heater system is already in place. The two systems can be combined to provide both heating and hot water, either by pairing a boiler with an indirect water heater or by installing a premade combination boiler-water heater unit. For home heating, some homeowners may also opt for a furnace instead of a boiler.

Hydronic and standard electric baseboard heaters differ in how they operate, their cost, and their performance. Standard convection heaters use electric coils to heat the air directly, while hydronic heaters warm a contained liquid like water or oil, which then radiates heat into the room.

In terms of cost and efficiency, hydronic heaters usually have a higher upfront price but are more energy-efficient and cheaper to run over time. This is because the heated liquid retains warmth, allowing the heater to continue providing heat for a while after the thermostat turns it off. In contrast, electric heaters provide heat more quickly but are less efficient.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on your priorities. If you need a room to heat up fast and have a lower initial budget, an electric heater might be suitable. If long-term energy savings are more important and you don't mind a slower heat-up time, a hydronic heater is likely the better option.

Many utility companies and government programs offer rebates or incentives for the installation of high-efficiency propane boilers. These can offset upfront costs and improve your return on investment. Check with your local utility or installer for current offers. Incentives vary by state and provider, so exploring regional programs can help maximize your savings.

A furnace is a big unit where gas, heating oil, or electricity heats the air. The warmed air is then pushed back out through ducts and vents.

A boiler uses electricity, heating oil, or gas to heat water that is pushed into the room through a radiator. This is one of the oldest and most effective ways to heat a house, but radiators can also be unsightly and leave hot and cold spots in the room.

Heat pumps use a refrigerant to move heat from outside into the house and return it to the room through ducts and vents.
