"The work was substandard at best. I was deceived on the work that would be performed. I was told at the time of sales that the wood siding I had would be cut back and replaced with similar material. It was not. It was replaced with what appears to be a type of trim. I had originally called in because I wanted my house painted. They then only painted the siding and told me the trim would be extra after they had already started the job. At this point I felt like I was being held hostage to their demands. Since they had already started the job they would do what would normally cost over $2000 for around $1600. I elected not to have this additional work performed. I would have NEVER had them do any work had I known this from the beginning. There is caulk everywhere. Nothing was taped or masked. The paint lines are not straight or even. Sometimes they would paint the side of the trim the same color as the siding. In other places they wouldn't. They washed out their brushes with my house in my yard. One night they left the hose on. I asked them not to wash their brushes in my grass and one of them was rude about it. Do not recommend. The owner offered me $200 off for my troubles. I just wanted the job done right. This isn't it. A month later and I'm still waiting for them to come and touch up spots where they set their ladder against the wet paint and you can see marks on the siding because of it."

"They did a good job; I would hire them again. I received 3 bids on the job, and Gold Seal was the cheapest. I know, "you get what you pay for" but there are lots of things to fix in this house so I have to stretch the budget. They responded immediately to my request for bid, had someone out right away for the estimate, and kept following up until we were able to agree on a date. They convinced me the quality of paint they selected was just fine, and it was. They did everything as agreed, and it turned out great. I also appreciate they took the job, as I know it wasn't the biggest job around."

They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

Yes, you can paint an entire wall using just a brush. In fact, it may make the most sense on narrow walls where a roller would be impractical, but be prepared for it to take more time. We still recommend cutting in around corners and trim, then distributing paint around the rest of the wall as evenly and smoothly as possible.

In many cases, you can sleep in a room painted with low-VOC paint on the same day you painted it. You’ll want to give it at least 10 hours to allow any lingering chemicals to dissipate. However, it can still have an odor for about a day after painting, so you may want to add extra ventilation or adjust your sleeping arrangements if you’re particularly sensitive. 

No-VOC paint is generally odorless and won’t emit toxic chemicals, so it’s even safer and more comfortable to sleep near after a fresh paint job.

A 7 to 12-inch wide microfiber or synthetic paint roller with a nap of 3/8 to 1/2 an inch will give you smooth, even paint coverage on interior walls. Before getting started, wrap painter’s tape around the roller cover to remove any lint or fibers that may end up embedded in the paint, ruining your even finish.

Black paint absorbs light, so using black paint will cause your room to look darker overall. In addition to reducing ambient light, black paint can make your space feel smaller because it hides depth and contours. The other major drawback is that black paint is harder to paint over with a lighter color. You’ll need to fully prime your wall with a good quality primer and use at least two coats of paint to get back to a lighter color after it’s been painted black.

Another factor impacting the longevity of the paint is how much wear and tear the floors receive, such as heavy machinery or constant foot traffic, which can shorten the life span.
