I had a Maytag dishwasher that could not be fixed because it was out of warranty, and I went to Home Depot, where I had purchased it from, and told them that I had looked up online, and the Maytags have problems and it was not under warranty, and they called Maytag, and they got the same run around. They then said that they will replace my dish washer. They had no obligation to replace it, because it was a Maytags issues. I didn't think I should have to pay for the same problem that I had when it was under warranty a year ago. The sales person talked to me, and talked to her manager, and she said they will replace the dishwasher. They wanted me to keep the old one in the garage, and they came and installed a new one for free. It was a newer model, and they installed it for free. I was just blown away. Even when they didn't come back to pick the old one to pick it up, I called them, and they sent somebody over that night. I think their price is reasonable. I went in a couple of months ago, and bought a gas grill, and I asked them to assemble it, and a couple of days I went back and told them that I did not need the gas grill because I had been told that I didn't need something so big, and they took it off my charge.

After having some bad experiences trying to get a new patio door from another company, as well as the high cost quoted by different door companies, I was afraid I wouldn't be happy with any door that I chose and/or that the installation experience would be horrible. I was also concerned that using Home Depot might not be a good choice, since they are not exclusively a "door" company/installer. It did take 5 weeks to get my custom-ordered door -- the outside has to be dark brown (per condo regulations), but once it was in, RF Installations called me to install the door. They called in the morning to flip me to the afternoon, since it was raining outside. By the afternoon, it had mostly stopped, but was still drizzling. He thought he could probably get it done and they were very busy, so he'd rather do it then, if possible....(It was Halloween....) ...once he got into the job, he realized that they had not given him the screen door! He also found out that the door was deeper (not wider) than my original. He theorized that it may have been the only depth that a dark brown exterior was available in...but no one had alerted either him or me....but he said that it would work and be beautiful. He was right. His work was excellent and he was cheerful, in spite of the bumps in the road. He was a hard worker and when he was done, it was perfect. Home Depot delivered my screen door to me later than evening and Chaz came back the next day to seal the door and install the screen -- by the end of the evening, it was pouring the rain, and there was no way he could caulk & seal in the rain.....
He cleaned up everything as he went and left me with no mess in my kitchen. He called me when he was coming. He arrived when he said he would. I couldn't have been more pleased with his work (or my new door !).

On Dec. 4, 2011, we purchased a new toilet, paid in advance, and signed the contract to have Home Depot do the installation. According to the contract they were supposed to call us with 48 hours to set a date for the installation. They did not call, and when we called them, no one in the store had the authority to do anything. They promised to call when someone in authority came to the store. Never called back. We threatened to cancel the whole job and said we wanted our money back. Eventually, after many calls trying to spur them along, someone was able to have a plumber call us. By now, it was January. A few days later, the plumber called and he couldn't do the work until Jan 18th, six weeks after our purchase. He said he would do it between 10 and 12. He arrived at 3 minutes before 12. I was tempted to tell him to leave, but we had waited so long, I let him install it. I gave them a D only because the work was finally done satisfactorily. Then came the inspection. After many calls back and forth, we finally got the inspector in and all he did was look at the toilet (presumably to make sure a toilet was there) and for this we paid $70. He put the wrong date on the form. I wish I had read the reviews on Angie's List before so I could have saved myself this frustration.

I specifically requested that I wanted flooring that was scratch free resistance. First of all the experience of purchasing it, they send someone over to your home to assess what you need, the sizing. You then go to the store and the order is signed for and the priced, after everything is delivered to your home, you came an appointment with the installer and we did. The installer arrived and 30% of the material that was ordered was ordered incorrectly or unnecessarily. I had to have it returned in the store and make a scene because they would not accept the return. I told them that I would leave it on the floor and visa and stop the payment for the material and at that point they gave ne the credit. They also wanted to charge me a stocking free for returning the flooring. We noticed scratches on the floor the weekend after the floor was installed and the installer even said that it was the softest laminate floor he has ever put in. The person that sold that to me intended to maybe they had an over stock of that flooring or they were not getting very good business on it. We are having the flooring replaced in spring because it is embarrassing sitting and looking at the scratches on the floor of our living room and kitchen area.

I purchased a kitchen faucet and had their installers install it. After they did, the hot water pressure was very low. Another handyman told me they installed the wrong hoses (which they charged $95 extra to install). They came out and installed the metal mesh hoses. A couple of days later I noticed the carpet in front of the kitchen was wet. Looked under the sink and water was dripping. Turned off the water, called a plumber who came the next day. It was their installation that had leaked - down into my finished basement ceiling. I was told we should replace the drywall and have it refinished. I filed a claim with Home Depot, they passed it on to their installation company who told me they would pass it on to the installers insurance. I cleaned the carpet, but the ceiling is still stained.

They were very professional and timely. The finished product looks good. The only draw back was that only one of them spoke English. Which made it a little difficult to communicate.

THE WORK WAS A BIG JOB SINCE THE NEW DOOR WAS A VERY HEAVY ONE. THE INSTALLER MADE SURE THAT THE EXISTING DOOR JAM WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE NEW DOOR. THEY INSTALLED THE DOOR AND HAULED THE OLD STUFF AWAY.
