"These folks are very professional. Chris knows the answers to every question we had. He gave an excellent and very thorough presentation of the Rain Soft water softening system. Meanwhile, Andrea was always on top of things with every email I sent. She or Chris responded almost immediately with answers to our questions. Installation was done professionally and they explained all we needed to know about operation and maintenance of the unit. I would definitely recommend using Aquasani if you are looking for a good quality company."

"Our new water softener which is a Fleck SXT made our water soft but it stunk terrible. We couldnâ t stand it. It made me nauseated. We could not get the help from the company we purchased the system through. The only way they could help was for us to buy another $600 filter to add on to our water softener. The water guys tested our water. It was soft. They recommended for us to clean out our hot water heater and take out the anode rode. We did this which my husband said was easy. Now our water is absolutely wonderful. Soft. No smell such an easy way to fix a horrible problem. These guys were so nice. Did not charge us for the test of the water and the great advise which worked perfectly. . Would recommend them highly. They saved us hundreds of dollars from what the company wanted us to do. Thank you water guys. Hire these guys. They are so nice very knowledgeable and they donâ t take advantage of you with price. I am so glad we found you. Thank you so much. Evelyn in Strafford."

"Duraplex specializes in moisture protection - primarily foundations and roofs. But, Travas also does related work and was always focused on customer satisfaction. If he knows how to fix something, he will help you. If he doesn't, he will help you find a referral. Travas is thorough in his work and a nice person to do business with. I would recommend his company to anyone who needs help with foundation or roofing needs."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Most experts agree there’s not much difference health-wise between hard water versus soft water. That said, hard water is more likely to cause skin dryness and issues that go along with it, like an itchy or flaky scalp. Hard water can also decrease the life span of your household appliances and make it more difficult for soap to do its job.

The main difference between a water softener and a water filter is what they remove from the water. A water softener is specifically designed to remove hard minerals, while a filter removes a wider range of contaminants above a certain size, such as bacteria and other impurities. If your primary goal is to remove minerals, a softener is the best choice. If you want to remove various contaminants for safety or taste, a filter is more suitable. Filters are also typically less expensive to install. Depending on your water supply's specific issues, you may need to install both systems for comprehensive treatment.

Routine maintenance involves recharging the resin bed with salt or potassium, cleaning components, and periodic inspection.

A water softener is a worthwhile investment if you live in an area with hard water. While hard water is safe to drink, it contains minerals like calcium and magnesium that can cause significant problems over time. These minerals build up inside pipes, reducing water flow and eventually corroding the plumbing system, which can lead to leaks and a shortened lifespan. Hard water also damages fixtures and appliances, potentially resulting in costly repairs. Additionally, it makes soaps and detergents less effective, meaning you'll use more product to get things clean. By installing a water softener, you can prevent these issues. The initial investment is often recouped through long-term savings, including lower energy bills, reduced appliance and plumbing maintenance, and spending less on soap and cleaning supplies. Other benefits include cleaner linens, dishes, and clothing, as well as softer water that is gentler on your skin and hair. In some areas, a water softener can also increase your home's value, making it a valuable long-term investment.

Yes. To get soft water, you can install a water softening system, which will replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with sodium or potassium ions. Water softeners cost anywhere from $200 to $6,000, depending on the size and complexity of the system. You can either install a water softener for the whole house or just at your shower heads. If you’re sensitive to sodium or potassium, you can install a salt-free water conditioner.
