"Petey is very prompt, he called me within an hour of requesting plaster services. Petey came out looked over my project gave a fair bid. He and his crew did great work were done quickly and cleaned everything up. I had two small areas that cracked slightly due to rapid drying. "Needed to replace and repair lots of rotten wood, and peeling paint on the house. looked at several options, and Continental worked hard to earn my business. They made a great sell, and provided financing that worked within my budget. It may have taken a while to get the actual work started (due in part to the COVID pandemic slowing everything down) but they called me every two weeks with an update on my position in line. The house looks fantastic, and I never need to worry about rotten siding again. Would highly recommend."

Installing drywall over plaster will increase the wall's thickness, which can cause issues with existing window and door frames that may no longer fit. You might also need to adjust power outlets to keep them accessible. A better, though more expensive, option is to remove the old plaster and lath entirely before installing new drywall. Drywalling directly over plaster seals in the old material, and if any problems arise later, you will need to remove both layers down to the structural beams for repairs. Plaster that sags or bulges, shows extensive deep cracks, or is crumbling from water damage or simply time may need replacement. Plaster walls can look a little “worn” for a long time before they need replacing.
