"I have known this man for most of my life, he has always been very helpful and been there for others if they have needed help with anything. He is very responsible and a very kind person. I know he is honest and very hard working and I would recommend him for hire. He has spread gravel for one of my family members and did a very nice job."

"From the time we received the quote to the work being completed it was an awesome experience. Everything was completed in a timely fashion and exceeded our expectations. Kevin and his crew are good people. Each day they cleaned up after themselves and updated us on their progress. Overall it was a great experience."

"This company does it ALL! When we called to get a quote on few projects around our house we found out all other extra things they do. I was so impressed by the professionalism and quality work they do. We got our house waterproofed (had a private pool on the side of our house), few drains installed in ground, mudjacking (lifted our driveway and steps) and fixed our sump pump to drain correctly and more. Our foreman was extra awesome and they left the site clean as a whistle. We will definitely use them for our future projects and we already recommended them to our relatives. A1 is A+ in my book!"

"We had just purchased an old home & it needed some plumbing work. we had Anthony R & Adam come out to look things over & give an estimate. They were great! It ended up being a bigger project than I was aware of in the beginning but they were very patient with me & have become like family to us. They did great work & cleaned up after themselves. I will definitely have them back for any future plumbing issues."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

To drill a shallow well, you may be able to use a drive well point. This is a tapered point that is driven into the ground. A drill bit at the end of PVC pipe may be another option to consider. A lot of the cost depends on what tools are available near you.

Because decomposed granite is a durable material, a crushed rock or gravel base is optional as long as the DG is properly installed and compacted. However, installing a base is a good idea because it will ensure proper drainage and stability and act as a weed suppressant (although you may still occasionally have to pull weeds). Installing an adequate base can also increase the durability of driveways and walkways. If you forego the paver base or gravel underneath, line the area with landscaping fabric to avoid weeds.

The rules for trenching and excavation include setting up and following safety protocols, learning how to use tools and machines properly, and ensuring there is a safe exit for all workers. Keep heavy equipment and materials away from the edge of the hole or trench. Call the 811 dig line before starting any excavation or trenching project to ensure you don’t hit any electrical or gas lines.

Trenches are typically 12 to 24 inches deep and 8 inches wide. However, the required depth depends on the specific project and local ordinances. For example, a French drain may need to be 18 inches deep, while a water pipe might require a depth of 24 inches and a drainage pipe 36 inches. Your city or county may have specific regulations, so it's wise to consult with an excavation professional to determine the correct depth for your project.

Septic drain lines (or leach lines) are typically buried between 18 and 36 inches underground, and should be at least 6 inches below the surface. These pipes are perforated and surrounded by filtering materials like sand or gravel. Burying the lines at this depth helps minimize odors and allows bacteria and other biological processes in the soil to effectively treat the wastewater. Burying lines too close to the surface can cause issues unless the soil is very compact and stable.
