"ORIGINALLY - July 2021, this company cut my grass and used a riding lawn mower to go down the side of my house which doesn't have much room due to a fence. During this service my water faucet on the side of my house was BADLY damaged. Both Gregory Simmons and Martennace Ingram promised to pay for the repair. We are now in November... 3 different companies have been out to give an estimate on repairs. NONE have completed the repairs due to poor communication from Martennace Ingram and Gregory Simmons. Gregory Simmons has stopped responding to my messages. Martennace Ingram has made several appointments and has had several companies come to my home but none have completed repairs because he has not given them the OK. Here I am 4 months later still unable to use the faucet on the side of my home due to the negligence of this company. When I made him aware that I would seek legal action he changed the name of his company and gave me a story about him and all of his colleagues having a falling out and that he no longer does business with them because they are unprofessional and not as skilled. Each member in ownership placed blame on the other. UPDATE - JUNE 2022 Martennace Ingram sent a representative from Integrity Plumbing out to repair damage that was done to my home by his company. I contacted him afterwards to inform him that the spout was barely operable and to inform him that I am injuring my hands when attempting to turn the spout. He assured me that he would send someone back out to PROPERLY repair my water spout better than what the last company had done. No one has been back out and the spot is still operating poorly. I have contacted him and he referred me to his management team. The representative from his management team was unable to resolve the issue. He reached back out to me personally. After discussing it over with him he agreed to find someone else to repair the damages. After AGREEING PER RECORD to repair my water spout he began advising me to reach back out to his former colleague Greg Simmons as he is the one responsible for destroying my spout. The pipe INSIDE the wall of my home is bent and 4 companies have advised me that they will have to cut into my wall and replace the pipe to PROPERLY repair this issue. EACH company has advised me that Martennace is not giving them the OK to repair the issue. Martennace reached back out to me and AGREED AGAIN to send someone back out to ACTUALLY FIX IT.. Since our previous conversation I have not heard a word from him and he has removed me from his social media accounts. I am simply wanting a resolution to this issue!"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Don’t pick up dirt after aerating. Even though it's tempting because soil cores are incredibly unsightly, these cores and the dirt they leave behind are ecologically important. This is what keeps your grass looking beautiful and growing healthily. The soil cores need two to three weeks to decompose, but you can swat them with a rake if their natural shape bothers you.

No, it's not a good idea to put grass seed directly on top of dead grass. For successful germination and growth, grass seed needs good soil contact. To prepare the area, start by removing the dead grass using a shovel or a sod cutter. Then, loosen the soil, add soil amendments if necessary, and spread the grass seed evenly. This allows the seed to come into direct contact with the soil, promoting better germination and establishing a healthier lawn.

When your sod is new, you should keep an eye on it to prevent dehydration. As new sod plants its roots into the soil beneath it, it can easily get dehydrated and start to turn brown. Keeping a consistent watering schedule for your new sod will help prevent this issue and will help it thrive as it roots into your yard.

Once your sod is about six weeks old, you can start to establish a regular lawn maintenance routine, complete with mowing, edging, and fertilizing.

Buffalo grass does not turn green as early in the spring as some other grasses. If you have a heavily shaded yard, buffalo grass may not receive enough sunlight to thrive. It’s not as dense as some other grass varieties, so it may not feel as comfortable on bare feet.

First, you should figure out whether you have dormant or dead grass. Dead grass won’t come back, so you’ll have to reseed if you’re hoping for a lush lawn. However, grass can go dormant if it hasn’t received enough water or if temperatures are too cold. If it’s still decently warm outside, you can revive dormant grass by watering it. But if it’s mid-January in New England, for example, you’ll need to wait until the weather warms up again. If you want to keep grass green in winter, consider a grass like Kentucky bluegrass, which maintains its color year-round.
