"Mike and his team are absolutely wonderful to work with. We moved into our new home in October of 2020 and our basement was completely unfinished at the time. We worked with Mike to create plans to add a bedroom, office, laundry room, family room, and an additional bathroom. During the project, we were so happy with Mike and his team that we asked if he would be able to help us with the upstairs as well. For the upstairs, MH contracting removed a wall that separated the kitchen and living room, removed carpet in the bedrooms, updated two bathrooms with new tile and vanities, along with installing new vinyl plank flooring throughout the upstairs. The wall was removed flawlessly and you would never know that there was a wall there. For the basement, they stabilized the stairs, installed completely new framing, fixed plumbing components that were not up to code from the previous owner, fully insulated and dry walled, painted, all new electrical and panel upgrades, added an egress window, and laid new vinyl plank flooring. The basement is now completely finished with proper permits and fully passed inspections. Mike’s communication was great throughout the entire project and all of his team members were very polite, clean, and helpful. He kept us up to date on any material delays throughout the pandemic and set proper expectations. There were material delays that were out of Mike’s control so the projects took about four and a half months to complete but they were a pleasure to work with the entire time. We would absolutely recommend Mike and his team to any of our friends and family for any work you’re looking to have done to your home or business."

He spent a good amount of time with us at our initial meeting to truly understand what we wanted to accomplish. "Tom and team did a basement remodel for me about 13 years ago, including adding a bathroom. Subsequent projects were window replacement for the entire house, and new roof/front porch. We received numerous compliments about the roof and front porch as it improved the entire look of the house from the street. He also replaced my concrete driveway to make it double wide. The most recent job was updating the columns wrapped around the porch. They were wrapped in aluminum which looked great but seemed like squirrels like to chew on them. Went with a different material this time around."

I love the results we have had in the past. Very good design work, creative solutions, quality products and workmanship. The designers, managers, staff and trades people you work with are all very approachable and down to earth. Your final price will not be inexpensive but you will get what you want and that is important. If something isn’t quite right at first, they will fix it. My 1970s house is getting prettier, updated and more useable thanks to Dana King and her great group. They are also very good at understanding “age in place” meaning that your house can evolve and be better equipped to work for you as you age. We want to stay in our house a long time. I definitely do recommend Dana King Design Build and Remodel."

"St. Louis Remodeling Pros is Greg Bryd and his son Chris. Chris does most of the labor and does an excellent job. We had a complete basement remodel. One of my complaints matches another review. They only work about 4 hours a day. Our project completion was two months overdue. Our biggest issue was flooring. When we could not decide on the best basement flooring, Greg told us he does excellent cement staining and we would love it. The floor project alone was $7000 and was terrible. We could see tape marks, uneven staining, and it looked nothing like we had requested. The staining process involved him working 20-30 minutes a day for over a week! Not what a cement staining company does! We ended up spending another $7000 having LVF installed to cover the concrete. This was our first experience hiring someone for such a big job. My advice is to get a written price quote for everything! When Greg asked if he could cover the floor with paper to make clean up from the drywall mudding easier, I said yes. He forgot to mention that was an additional $1000! So..get prices for everything and before you say "yes" to requests, ask if there is an additional charge. You also should get the fixture allowances in writing for everything. Bottom line, the carpentry is wonderful. They were extremely neat and clean and polite. Just watch your costs/expenses and be prepared for short work days without great communication."
