"I would highly recommend this company. I was contacted immediately once I asked for a quote. They were able to start the job within a few days. They did a wonderful job of completely removing and then topping several trees, removing all the wood and cleaning up all the small branches. The staff are very friendly and did not waste time. They were able to finish the job in 3 days. The job was priced fairly, and I will hire them again."

"The service done involved shrubbery and ornamental tree trimming and a clean up of landscaping gone amuck. I did not have any deadline nor did I know exactly what I needed, but I needed help to get some order back to our landscaping. Greg was courteous and knowledgeable explaining not only what he could do but what the various plants/shrubbery/trees needed. He had some nasty weather to work through and the job was finished just before company and Thanksgiving. The work he did made a very noticeable improvement with the landscaping. I was very pleased with the work done and very pleased that Greg was professional and courteous in his approach to this job. I would recommend this service to others in a heartbeat. Our landscaping, although we are in Fall approaching Winter, actually looks like someone cares for it. Thanks GS Outdoor Services."

"Outside of I would like them to start taking plastic for payments, I think they were excellent. My job was mainly manual labor and not complex but they worked efficiently and handled everything I asked for. We didnâ t quibble over small details and they were very agreeable to things I asked to complete the work maybe even beyond our original agreement. Very satisfied!!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The average lifespan of an oak tree is 100 to 300 years, so long as it isn’t impacted by diseases like sudden oak death. Some species will last shorter or longer, depending on where you live.

You need to remove all branches affected by Dutch elm disease. If your tree has several affected branches, you will probably need to remove the entire tree. First, consult a pro to be sure that you’ve correctly identified it as an elm tree. Make sure the tree is properly disposed of with a plastic covering or through debarking, chipping, or burning.

Not all evergreen conifers need to be pruned, but some do. Pruning pine trees is not necessary, but you can do so during June and July if you wish. On the other hand, spruce, firs, and junipers do need to be pruned from late winter to early spring.

You can hire a professional arborist or tree removal service to cut down a tree to ensure safety, prevent property damage, and comply with all the local regulations. It’s highly advisable to always hire a professional, as tree removal can be extremely dangerous, especially for large or damaged trees. Certified arborists or tree removal experts have the proper equipment, training, and insurance to do the job safely and efficiently. They can also handle cleanup, stump removal, and obtaining the necessary permits.

The cost of professional tree trimming averages $460, with a typical range between $200 and $760. However, prices can be as low as $75 or as high as $1,800 depending on several factors. The size and type of the tree are major cost drivers; for example, trimming Crepe Myrtle trees costs an average of $80 to $400, while trimming giant pine trees can range from $200 to $1,800. Other factors that influence the price include the time of year, as services are often more costly in the spring. The tree's accessibility and your location also play a role, as a remote or hard-to-reach tree may increase the cost. Some professionals may offer a discount if you have multiple trees to trim.
