"I hired Quality Waterproofing to extend a buried downspout/sump pump drain that was poorly placed by a competitor 4 years ago. The competitor placed the pop up drain 10 feet from the house in a low spot, which created a swamp. Quality did an A+ job fixing the problem. They were timely, professional and UNDER budget. Very honest and high quality work. They even did some extra sodding and dirt work at no charge."

You have different options depending on the scale of repair needed. If you are repairing minor cracks that are between ¼ inch to 1.5 inch wide and less than half an inch deep, a self-leveling polyurethane sealant would be your best choice. Polyurethane sealants dry to the touch within one to two hours. Since they come in a tube applier, you also have the option to complete the repair without emptying out your garage.

Concrete stain is usually better than dye for longevity because it is more durable and shows less wear and tear. While stain is not as saturated as dye, it gives you more control over the final look of the concrete countertops.

In general, you can expect concrete to last 30 to 50 years. However, the type of concrete, site prep, and climate all affect how long concrete lasts. The proper removal of rocks and tree roots before installation can prevent cracks later on. While concrete takes little maintenance, repairing small cracks as they appear can also extend the life of the concrete.

The easiest way to handle extra-wet cement is to pour it, let it harden, and then recycle it using one of the methods above. You can also crush it down and sell it for base materials, although this can be pretty time-consuming. Your best bet is to start with less concrete than you need and make more as you go to avoid this problem.

When hiring a concrete contractor, you should seek someone with proven experience, proper licensing, and insurance. You should also check reviews online, talk to references, and view past project photos. Remember that reliable contractors communicate openly and have an expert understanding of local building codes. You’ll also want to ensure that the contractor specializes in the specific type of concrete work you want, whether a driveway or tinted concrete flooring.
