"Brett and his team were very professional and friendly. They were on time explained to me what all they were gonna do. Noah did a great job on my driveway and carport area. Filled in all the cracks and prepped everything before even getting started. Would highly recommend them to someone else and hire them again when it needs to be repaired and sealed again"

"Prompt and courtesy as stated in all other reviews. Worked for two days on my project and each day they cleaned up behind themselves. Because this was my daughter's home (and I house-sat) while they did their work, I felt guilty because each day they arrived early/on time and I arrived slightly tardy but they performed the work in a professional manner. In fact, I had no choice but to leave them alone (twice) to pick up other grandkids. When i left, they were working and when I returned they were STILL working. I have similar work at my residence that need to be completed and I will definitely use Wells Painting again. Excellent pricing."

"I needed holes dug for fence posts. Lucas came by in the morning and gave me a quote, then came back later in the day to complete the job. He was professional and fair for the quote and kept communicating about the job when necessary. He finished in a timely manner, walked me around the work site and discussed any issues he encountered. He was innovative in his solutions to problems. I will hire him again when I need help."

"Joint Sealing Solutions, this team is amazing. The team went above and beyond and did a beautiful job. They poured a new patio with a step up into the house, and rebuilt a retaining wall that was failing. They not only repaired the wall but also fixed a large hole in the driveway where there used to be a tree. Added dirt, seeded, put straw down on the side of the wall. They used the existing brick to save me money. They came out quick and finished fast. Cleaned everything up and I just cannot say enough about them. If you need work done you should absolutely hire them for the job! I had a bad contractor experience, but they made me feel confident that they would do a GREAT Job and they went beyond GREAT. Thank you all"

Driveway Sealcoating questions, answered by experts

New asphalt typically needs 24 to 72 hours to dry before it can handle light foot traffic and careful driving. Although it may appear solid after a few days, the full curing process, where the asphalt reaches its peak strength, takes much longer—generally from 30 days to a year.

During this extended curing time, the surface remains relatively soft and can be damaged by heavy vehicles, sharp objects, or high temperatures. To protect your investment, it's best to avoid parking heavy machinery on the asphalt until it has fully cured.

The exact time required for drying and curing depends on several factors, including the weather, the specific asphalt mix, and its thickness. For the most accurate advice tailored to your situation, consult with your asphalt contractor.

Sealcoating is worth the investment because it protects your driveway from damage, extending its life and the timeframe in which you need to replace it. Sealcoating costs around $500 on average, while replacing a driveway costs about $5,000. Sealcoating delays the need for replacement and it also helps keep your driveway looking newer for longer. As an added bonus, sealcoating can boost your property value and curb appeal, making it worth the sealing cost once every five years.

Since freeze-thaw cycles throughout the winter months can damage your driveway, it's best to winterize your driveway in the late fall before the first freeze hits. Doing so will help to protect your driveway from damage throughout the winter season. Plus, drier, warmer weather makes applying and curing sealant much easier.

Most sealing projects take 1-2 days, including drying time before allowing traffic.

Maintaining a driveway depends on its material. For concrete and asphalt, it's best to clean the surface thoroughly twice a year with a stiff broom and a pressure washer to remove accumulated dirt and debris. Sealing the driveway is crucial to protect it from water damage and freeze-thaw cycles. Before applying a sealant, pressure wash the surface to remove any loose sealant, dirt, or stains, as sealing over them will trap them. Any cracks or expansion joints should be filled with a flexible polyurethane caulk or asphalt sealer. In colder climates, use sand instead of salt for de-icing. Sand helps melt snow and ice without accelerating the freeze-thaw process, which can cause cracks.
