"Juan and his crew were top notch at getting our fence installed and putting the deck on the above ground level kitchen opening. He gave us options for material and price range so we could make a firm budget for the installation. "These guys are truly the drywall ninjas! We had a DIY kitchen remodel project we needed completed ASAP to close on a loan, but time was running too close for us to be able do the drywall ourselves. Worse, we needed to be out of town that weekend. I called Noelge at 7 AM on a Friday to see if they were available. By 7:45 AM Dave was at our house for the estimate. He got a crew assembled -- over a holiday weekend, no less -- and the drywall was complete by the time we got home that Monday. We finished the rest of the project ourselves and the loan closed on time. Through the holiday weekend, Noelge stayed in touch with us and kept us up to date on their progress. They were outstanding to work with from start to finish. The next time I have a drywall project, I'm calling Noelge."

Some painters will repair minor drywall damage. For repair work of any kind, it’s a good idea to hire the professional required for the job. Plastering lasts for around 15 to 20 years without needing repairs or maintenance in most cases, and with proper upkeep, plastering can last a lifetime—sometimes more than 100 years. Plaster repair costs between $1 and $3 per square foot, and you may need these services once every 15 to 20 years or so unless you have a harsh climate where humidity changes are a constant issue. You can also opt to skim-coat plaster for between $0.90 and $1.30 per square foot, which may serve you better in the long run.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly. 

You can put certain types of plaster over other types, but doing so isn't always the best idea. For example, putting a coat of gypsum over lime plaster is possible, but doing so will limit the lime plaster's breathability and potentially affect its performance.
