Spider mites don’t have too much in common with actual spiders, but these insects can absolutely destroy a lawn. Spider mites feed on grass roots and blades and are extremely effective at draining nutrients from plants, which can quickly kill grass. Badgers have a strong sense of smell, so it’s possible you can deter them with strong scents, such as applying citronella oil to the bottom of your fence, adding crushed scotch bonnet peppers sprinkled throughout your garden, or mixing both of these into a solution to spray around your home and garden.

Termites can start causing damage within just a few weeks of settling in, and while the signs might not show up right away, they can hollow out drywall and structural wood within a few months. If left untreated for a year or more, the damage can be extensive and expensive.

When you spray a roach, the chemicals, usually a mix of neurotoxins like pyrethroids or pyrethrins, start affecting its nervous system almost immediately. It disrupts the roach’s nerve signals, causing paralysis and eventually death. You'll often see the roach twitch, flip over on its back, and stop moving within seconds to minutes.

To clean a trash can with maggots, combine chlorine bleach and hot water in a 1-to-1 ratio and pour about half a gallon of the solution into the bottom of your garbage can. Just make sure there aren’t holes in the can before doing so. Close the lid, and let the fumes go to work to kill the maggots. Rinse the can with a hose outside. Consider finishing up with a bleach disinfectant and a scrub brush before letting the can dry completely. You can also consider hiring an exterminator near you for a quick, easy solution to maggots in your garbage cans.
