"I highly recommend Alberts Window Fashions. My drapes are perfect! He was willing to take on a project I had started myself, but quickly realized I was in over my head. He listened to all of my concerns and delivered exactly what he said he would on time."

"Bruno's Professional Glass provided excellent and realistic analysis of my situation and assisted me with resolving my window frame drainage problem. It was a fairly simple solution, but I greatly appreciate the time and professionalism they displayed with a potentially easy fix. If I have further issues with my windows or frames, I will not hesitate to contact them again for repairs or replacement."

"This project was one of the easiest to remodeling projects that I've completed. Bryan did an awesome job of installing the windows and creating trim work to match the existing inside trim since I was replacing original windows. The windows look great both inside and out. My house was cleaned up every day that they were there, both on the inside and outside. Very professional and very knowledge for siding, roofing and windows as I've used Jeff and his team on my new house (roof crickets & replacement windows) and at my old house (new roof, replacement windows, & new siding)."

"We replaced the windows in our 1933 home through the services of MadCity Windows. From the initial contact with their sales representative to final installation, the company provided top notch professional work. With the draft from the old windows and the cold of the glass, we are already saving on our energy bills. Our house had old, large windows, so they had to be custom made. As an industrial designer and interior designer, we find our windows to be of excellent quality."

"The house had some damage from burst pipes, so the ceilings in some rooms were very rough. Ben and his Team assessed the damage, procured the materials (I provided the paint and primer), replaced the drywall where needed, did all of the taping, mudding, and sanding/mudding/sanding - until the walls and ceiling were truly perfect. They then applied primer and two coats of paint to the walls and ceiling. They were careful to tape the window and door woodwork. They even did a small bit of touch up on the areas that they felt were not perfect (they looked great to me!) The end result- the rooms look far better than I had hoped- really stunningly smooth and straight. They finished the job on schedule and for a very fair and reasonably price. As my home renovation progresses, I will call upon Ben and his Team to help with the rest of the work. Honest, professional, and a nice guy to boot! Every member of his Team was pleasant to be around. They were respectful and friendly. Ben's drywall guy is a true artist!

"They were wonderful. Love the Windows. Professional. Polite. Efficient. First thing I noticed was no frost on the Windows. None! Not inside or out. First time in my life having windows that don't frost up every night!"

"I called Lakewoods for two reasons: (1) I needed a small roof repair quickly before a heavy rainstorm that was forecasted, and (2) I wanted an estimate for a replacement of two storm windows. The man who came to the house showed up exactly when he said he would, and finished a quality repair of our roof very quickly. He also took measurements of our picture windows for the estimate. I was told he would mail me an estimate by the end of the week. However, I never received that estimate. I even called Lakewoods again, and the person I spoke with told me that the man who had been at our house had just gone on vacation, and that I would likely received an estimate when he returned. However, I never did get it. The work they did was great and affordable-if I was evaluating on the basis of the roof repair alone they would get a solid A. But given the fact that they did not follow through on the estimate, I have to grade them lower."
Metal is one of the best types of hurricane shutters because they are the most durable and longest lasting option. This shutter type will likely cost more than other materials like plywood, but metal hurricane shutters are a permanent solution compared to the temporary nature of putting plywood over your windows during a hurricane. You should also consider hurricane panels and automatic roll-down shutters that are useful for emergency situations.
In most cases, custom window treatments are well worth the investment. Custom window treatments not only elevate your curb appeal and make your home more visually pleasing inside, but they also often do a better job of boosting your home’s energy efficiency than non-custom treatments, and they usually last longer. Plus, specialty window treatments can increase your home value if maintained well, so your investment is more worthwhile in the long run in most cases, too.
Hurricane shutters cost about $3,700 on average, ranging from $1,500 to 5,900, depending on the style, size, materials, and your location. Materials may include metal, plastic, fabric, or wood.
Additional cost factors to consider include the number of windows, the time of year you install, and necessary permits. Keep in mind that if you purchase and install hurricane shutters during hurricane season, namely June through November in most states, you can expect to pay more due to increased demand.
Window replacement costs between $180 and $410 per window, or an average of $280 per window. However, your specific replacement job could cost as little as $100 or as much as $750. Factors such as frame material, the number of windows you need, and the type of glass you order all impact the overall cost. For example, simple double-glazed windows will cost $3 to $6 per square foot, but the stronger tempered glass ranges from $12 to $14 per square foot.
Custom window treatments cost around $900 per window, and prices usually fall between $150 and $4,800. Your total will depend on many factors, including the type of window treatment, the amount and size of the windows, your home’s location, and the labor cost. Blinds and shutters tend to be the most affordable custom window treatments at $600 to $2,700, and the most expensive options are valances, drapes, curtains, and estate shutters, costing up to $3,000.
