"The house had some damage from burst pipes, so the ceilings in some rooms were very rough.  Ben and his Team assessed the damage, procured the materials (I provided the paint and primer), replaced the drywall where needed, did all of the taping, mudding, and sanding/mudding/sanding - until the walls and ceiling were truly perfect.  They then applied primer and two coats of paint to the walls and ceiling.  They were careful to tape the window and door woodwork.  They even did a small bit of touch up on the areas that they felt were not perfect (they looked great to me!) The end result- the rooms look far better than I had hoped- really stunningly smooth and straight. They finished the job on schedule and for a very fair and reasonably price.  As my home renovation progresses, I will call upon Ben and his Team to help with the rest of the work.  Honest, professional, and a nice guy to boot!  Every member of his Team was pleasant to be around.  They were respectful and friendly.  Ben's drywall guy is a true artist!

"Our home sustained significant damage in an August 2013 hail storm. We needed to replace the entire roof, the windows on the north side of our home, and all the gutters and downspouts. (The house also required painting, but we already had a different contractor lined up for that part of the project.) There were many storm chasers over many months calling and stopping by, eager for our business. Lakewoods Remodeling was recommended to us by a neighbor who had used them at a different time.
Scott Rise has been exceptional throughout the entire project. He has proven to be a tremendous partner and advocate, often going to battle with our insurance company to be certain our house was returned to its pre-storm condition. Neither myself nor my husband are knowledgeable about the construction industry, but we learned very early on that we could trust Scott; he was truly looking out for our best interests. The initial insurance adjuster on our claim made significant errors and miscalculations and Scott worked directly with a successor adjuster to get everything corrected and agreed upon before the repair work began.
Another neighbor complained to me about the contractor they were working with for their home repairs. She said that they were unresponsive and hard to get a hold of during the project. That was not the case with Lakewoods. Scott was always responsive and has exceptional follow-up skills. I rarely waited even 8 hours to hear back from him and he often communicated with me on the weekends. He even texted me from a funeral on one occasion, simply to let me know what was going on and when I could expect to hear back from him.
The quality of the work has been very good and the various crews that were on our project were professional and respectful of our home. I can't think of a single situation working with Lakewoods where I was dissatisfied with any aspect of their work.
There aren't ratings high enough for Lakewoods. Scott Rise has done everything we could hope for from a contractor and more. We definitely will use Lakewoods for any future projects--large or small.
