"I had them paint the front of the house and stain our deck (800 SF) this fall and plan to hire them to paint the rest of the house next Spring. They responded quickly to my request for a bid. The bid was competitive and transparent. They got the work done in the time period we discussed. They did nice work and cleaned up each day. My only comment is the work van does not inspire confidence but the owners are frugal and conscientious. :0)))."

Small jobs welcome

"Ross picked up where the last contractor left me with the worst craftsmanship and unfinished work. Ross was timely, precise, and actually took pride in his work. I was very surprised with his work. My previous contractor cut my door frames off and Ross fixed them to look normal, you'd would never know they were cut off. I would recommend him to get the job done right and timely with integrity."

"The entire team from Classic Finishes are respectful, competent, friendly, punctual and extremely skilled at which each of them does. From Evan, the owner, who negotiated with me an excellent rate after I obtained quotes from a total of five companies, to Bob who provided great consultation on the best way to complete the project, to Peter whose carpentry skills are second to none, and to Luis whose painting and popcorn ceiling removal skills are undeniably amazing. I am very pleased and lucky I hired Classic Finishes and I highly recommend!"

"I couldn’t be happier with the work this painting company did in my home. They painted multiple interior spaces, including the bedrooms, kitchen, and living area, and the results exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and detail-oriented. Their preparation work was thorough, the paint lines were crisp and clean, and they took great care to protect my furniture and floors throughout the project. The finished rooms look absolutely beautiful and have completely refreshed the feel of my home. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail really show in the final product. They were also friendly, easy to work with, and left everything spotless when the job was complete. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for high-quality interior painting. Fantastic work, excellent service, and results that truly speak for themselves!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The best paint for an older deck depends on the material and whether or not your deck already has a coat of paint. Generally, if your deck already has paint on it, you should choose the same type of paint when repainting the deck. For example, if an old deck has oil-based paint on it, stick with oil; if your deck has water-based paint, choose water-based paint.

You’ll need to wait until the surface is completely dry, which can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours under optimal conditions. The waiting period depends on several factors, including the type of siding and the weather conditions. Trying to paint before the surface is completely dry can trap moisture under the paint, leading to bubbling, blistering, and mold growth.

Ensure gutters and downspouts remain clean, monitor wall integrity, and promptly address any arising imperfections or peels concept permanence rooted.

Yes, beginners can use a paint sprayer, but there is a learning curve. It's important to go slowly, read the instructions thoroughly, and spend some time learning the technique. Watching tutorial videos for your specific paint sprayer model can be very helpful. Before starting your main project, practice on a scrap surface to get used to the sprayer and avoid common issues like overspraying, which can cause drips, bubbles, and other imperfections. For safety, always wear a mask and gloves, and be careful not to touch the sprayer's tip when it's in use, particularly with high-powered airless sprayers.

Applying too much sealer to a deck might seem like extra protection, but it can cause more harm than good. Wood is a porous material with a limited capacity to absorb liquids. When you go overboard with sealer, the excess can't soak in and instead forms a film on the surface. This leftover layer is prone to peeling, cracking, and trapping moisture, ultimately defeating the purpose of sealing in the first place.
