"Value I worked with Ryan Youngren at Hoffman Weber Construction for both a full roof replacement and siding. Ryan was personable and very knowledgeable in all aspects, which allowed me to feel confident with my purchase. The process was painless, efficient, and I was pleased with the final look of my home. I couldn't be happier. I will continue to work with Ryan Youngren for all future projects and have passed him off to friends and family!"

"Mark is a very knowledgeable insulator. He went the extra mile to make sure the attic was properly insulated. Showed up on time and also built some walkway platforms for easy access. I have used him in the past for dampness issues in my prior home. He solved the problem other insulators could not figure out. I would absolutely recommend his services to anyone who needs a pro.

"Great, I could not find anyone willing to do this for us. Mark was running a little behind but had the courtesy to call and let me know that. He worked past 5pm to get the project done for us. Instead of running the cable on the outside of the house like others recommended, he ran the cable up a cold air return to the attic and then over to the bedroom. Along the way, he also gave us useful tips and tricks with the furnace, insulation and took a look at some other work will need in the future. He was clean, professional, friendly and honest."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"We had water damage due to a plumbing leak. The company removed the old drywall in the bathroom, bedroom and lower floor ceiling. They installed new insulation, new drywall, coat it in joint compound and sanded everything in four days. They kept me current on what is going on with the project, They kept the dust to a minimum by containing the entire area. They really are drywall ninja's."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

You can insulate an existing garage door. But while it’s a cost-effective option upfront, it may not perform as well as a garage door that comes with insulation. If you live in a colder climate—or if you plan on working in your garage and need a new door—you should purchase one with existing insulation for better efficiency.

EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) siding can last from 20 to 60 years, with some properly maintained systems lasting even longer. The exact lifespan depends heavily on several factors, most notably the quality of the initial installation and the consistency of maintenance.

Factors that can shorten the life of EIFS include:

  • Improper or poor-quality installation

  • Moisture intrusion

  • Damage from high winds, storms, or hail

  • Damaged flashing and sealant

  • Lack of regular maintenance and unfixed damage

To maximize the lifespan of your EIFS, it is crucial to hire an experienced and qualified professional for the installation. Additionally, regular maintenance—such as cleaning, repairing small cracks or blisters, and having the system professionally inspected—will help identify and resolve issues quickly, preventing long-term damage.

Insulation can be made of cellulose, fiberglass, polyurethane, polystyrene, or mineral wool. Radiant barriers are often made of aluminum or other similarly reflective materials, but they will need to be paired with something else because they don’t provide heating benefits. Cellulose is among the most eco-friendly options and may be recycled when it’s past its shelf-life, whereas polyurethane and polystyrene both emit harmful compounds and will need to be handled with care during installation.

There are many reasons one bedroom may be hotter than the rest of the house. The sun will quickly heat a south-facing bedroom with a large window, especially if it lacks quality curtains. If the room has poor insulation, this could let more warm outside air in. Upstairs bedrooms are often hotter than ground-floor rooms because heat rises. Finally, rooms further away from the air conditioning unit may heat up a lot if the system is not properly balanced.

According to a report from Energy.gov, radiant barrier installations can save between 5% and 10% on your energy bill each month that your HVAC cooling is in operation. That fact can mean savings of up to more than $325 per year for homes that experience frequent direct sunlight and high summer temperatures.
