"I was really impressed with the whole team at Guevara Insulation. They worked efficiently, the quality, and attention to detail was top notch. As a builder, and remodeler I've worked with many tradesmen over the years. So I can tell when guys really care about what they do, and it shows in their work. I had them work on my personal home build. They spray foamed all the exterior walls, and joist pockets, installed fiberglass batts, poly'd and caulked all framing seams. Then came back to finish the blow in once the drywall was up. I'll definitely be using them on my future projects, and will be recommending them to anyone needing insulation work done."

"Had our basement finished by Luke in first half of 2018. We hired Luke because he listened to what we wanted and provided a great plan to maximize the available space within our modest budget. He worked at a steady pace with an apprentice to do the majority of the work -- framing, egress window install, drywall, multiple door install, closets, shower surround install, painting and flooring. What he couldn't do legally, he hired competent helpers: plumber, electrician, and HVAC. I would not hesitate to hire Luke. He is a friendly communicator, excellent craftsman and a man of integrity (you can take him at his word)."

"The estimate was $900 less than the others I received. They arrived on time, finished promptly and had me inspect their work (insulation & drywall). No complaints; I would recommend them to anyone contemplating a similar project."

"Ryan did our estimate, and was very efficient. Andrew and Evan did the insultation work and did a fantastic job! It was a large area to get prepped and then to insulate and they did a great job every step of the way! Our entire home is now at a R50+ insulation level, as opposed to the R25-30 and 0 values we had before. It will be interesting to see what sort of impact the newly insulated garage and 3 season porch has on the comfort level in the main house. The team did a great job for us and I would recommend them to anyone considering insulation!"

"These guys are truly the drywall ninjas! We had a DIY kitchen remodel project we needed completed ASAP to close on a loan, but time was running too close for us to be able do the drywall ourselves. Worse, we needed to be out of town that weekend. I called Noelge at 7 AM on a Friday to see if they were available. By 7:45 AM Dave was at our house for the estimate. He got a crew assembled -- over a holiday weekend, no less -- and the drywall was complete by the time we got home that Monday. We finished the rest of the project ourselves and the loan closed on time. Through the holiday weekend, Noelge stayed in touch with us and kept us up to date on their progress. They were outstanding to work with from start to finish. The next time I have a drywall project, I'm calling Noelge."

"My husband and I somehow have energy bills that are much higher on average than our neighbors according to the energy company. So we're interested in adding insulation to our home and possibly replacing some windows plus two patio doors. Before spending the money, we thought it would be smart to do a home energy audit first to see if it is worth the investment. We are generally comfortable in our home, but it seems we are overpaying to keep it that way.

There are several energy audits offered by Excel, which is what we were initially going to have done. However, my husband was referred by a colleague to Hoffman Weber Construction who had some attic insulation put in his home by the company over the winter. Since they offered free estimates and we heard the work was done well (he told my husband his bills have significantly improved), we scheduled an appointment to them to come out and give us a quote.

A gentleman from the company called to confirm the appointment and my husband asked what they do specifically to know how much insulation is needed. He told him he typically starts with a consultation and asks questions to determine why we believe insulation is needed, then checks for moisture issues and performs and attic inspection. My husband asked about the Excel Energy audit, and the guy mentioned their company is putting together a new service that is very similar and offered us the program for free if we'd allow them to do our inspection as training for some of their reps. We agreed and had them come over yesterday to do everything.

They started with a blower door test which helps determine how much air our home is leaking, which was a shocking amount (81 inches - basically like a big hole in the wall we can't see). One gentleman who seemed to be the most knowledgable of the group showed us how it takes the measurements and explained everything very well. They went around with what looked like speed detection guns, but were used to show infrared. They figured out that our electric fireplace chimney had a significant issue that could be resolved with some insulation. They also showed us how much air each bathroom fan and air duct was actually flowing out compared to what is code. Overall, it was very educational for my husband and I and every person that involved from Hoffman Weber was courteous and respectful. They gave a quote on the insulation and windows, and we are currently looking into financing options. When/if we are able to afford it, we will be delighted to have this company come back out for the actual projects."

"Two man crew and a supervisor occasionally showed up, but the two men were BETTER then i had every anticipated.
I'm not sure how long the two men that installed my eGress have been doing this kind of work, or how long they have been working for Greene Construction Inc, but they have been trianed in great.
They took very good care of my home and of my property, the detail of the exterior and the interior is a wonderful addition to my home.
I had choice to go with a wooden treated exterior WELL , instead of the metal one, so again the two men crew hand dug the hole, CUT a hole into my house, as i came and went, I seen them use what seem to be 3 different types insulation around the window, some kind of thick tape, some kind of wired sticky expanding foam, and what ever else, and small pebbles rocks which are about 10 inchs below the very bottom of the new installed eGress window.
Just two days after the job, we had some serious rain, and i had no fear to my home, but 3 hours after the rain had stop, I went to the exterior to check just how the new WELL had head up, if it had any water pooled, and as the crew told me, there should not be, and there was none.
SO would i use Greene Construction Inc, again, YES, would i recommend to friends or others, YES.
You will not be disappointed with this company.
yours
Victor

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

The best tool for skim coating drywall is a skim coating blade, which can smooth out joint compound in wide stretches. While you could use a smaller drywall knife for skim coating, the smaller size means it’ll take longer to smooth out each section. Instead, consider investing in a skim coating blade for the quickest application.

Yes, you can put paneling over textured walls. Of course, this will come down to personal preference and the type of paneling you want to install. From board-and-batten to shiplap and wainscoting, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Yes, it is possible to rewire a house without removing the drywall, but this doesn’t work in all homes. You can pull out old wires and insert new ones if you have access to the wiring system via the ceiling or through a crawl space. Some pros can also use a magnetic kit to fish the old wire out of the wall through a hole cavity and install the new wires. Just keep in mind that doing this is less stable than removing drywall, as you won’t be able to staple the wires into the framing.

This depends on how much plaster is applied and in how many layers, but a decent estimate is around 150 square feet. If you are applying only two coats on a small wall, there is a chance you may only need one or two gallons for the entire project. If you are plastering a large living room wall with high ceilings, using one of the more involved techniques–like Scagliola–that requires several coats, expect the project materials costs to add up quickly.

In most cases, plaster repair will improve your home’s energy efficiency because a solid barrier of the insulative material helps keep conditioned air inside your home. Major plaster repair jobs like repairing large cracks or crumbling sections of plaster or applying a skim coat might make a noticeable difference in your heating and cooling bills. Not only can plaster repairs improve efficiency, but they can also reduce strain on your HVAC equipment, potentially saving you money on maintenance and repairs.
