Wasps are attracted to three primary things: Bright colors, food sources, and softened wood they can use for nests. They are more active in warmer months, which is when outdoor flowers and dinners also become more common. You can decrease the attention of wasps by keeping trash bins closed and avoiding bright flower colors in furniture or tablecloths.

False chinch bugs are generally smaller and somewhat paler than true chinch bugs, although they otherwise look similar. The name is a bit of a misnomer: They act very similarly and both feed on plants by sucking out their juices. However, chinch bug feeding tends to be very destructive to the plant, while strangely the false chinch bug does relatively little damage.

Some species of bees (not to mention hornets) are aggressive and dangerous to have in your walls. If they swarm in anger or defense, they could badly hurt people in your home. Other species of bees are largely harmless and many people live in close proximity to them.
