We do not stock anything, everything is custom made per project. Most components are made in house such as drawer boxes, doors, and finishing. If your wood furniture is sticky after already cleaning it, it’s likely from using too many polishes or waxes. You’ll need to remove some of the excess wax with a cloth and warm water mixed with dish soap. You can then reapply the wax or polish afterwards, but try to use a much smaller amount and wipe away any excess.

Wood can appear blotchy after staining due to uneven absorption, which happens when the wood has varying grain density. The denser the grain, the less the stain will be absorbed. This can cause the wood to appear uneven in color, with some areas darker than others. 

To prevent this issue, apply a wood conditioner before staining. Wood conditioners help to equalize the absorption of the stain, resulting in a more even finish. There are many different types of wood conditioners available, so be sure to choose one that is appropriate for the type of wood you are staining.

When water penetrates wood, the wood swells, causing the wood and veneer to separate. This separation creates bubbles on the surface of your furniture. If water spills on wood veneer, it needs to be dried ASAP. Surface spills can cause minor damages like white spots and blushing, but if you’re slow to action, you’re looking at more work—and spending—to restore your wood veneer.

A cloudy film on top of a wooden surface usually means either the incorrect cleaner was used or there is polish buildup. You’ll need to start over again and remove the surface cleaner with a damp rag and some water and dish soap. Be careful not to leave the wood surface wet as this could cause water damage.

Depending on the piece, there are times when you can paint over painted furniture. Start by applying a high-adhesion primer so that the new topcoat will stick. However, if the paint is peeling or chipping, it’s best to sand it down, use a paint stripper, or try a deglosser to ensure your new paint will adhere.
