We hired Mr. Sandless to refinish our hardwood floors. The results were nice for about one month, when they started to chip like finger nail polish. Our floors look absolutely awful. There isn't one square foot where the stain isn't peeled of or "chipped." Chad finally answered the phone and sent someone back to "fix" the floors. They looked ok for about another month and have since chipped all over. Mr. Sandless blames our dogs, and I say if that's the case, they should have said that they can't guarantee the work with dogs. It doesn't look like scratches, but rather a cheap paint job gone really bad. I will tell everyone I know not to business with this company. I feel taken advantage of. If we could afford the legal fees, I would take Mr. Sandless to court for our $1500 back.

They gave me a bid. My floors were terrible. They were honest and dependable. They did give me a deal for doing one other large area so I appreciated that.

Showed up on time and got right to work. The product they use was not as smelly as I thought it would be. It has been 1 1/2 months now and the floors still look great. I had some areas that were pretty bad looking and they were able to clean them up too.

I was not home when they did the work, so I could not ask them at the time if what I saw afterward could have been fixed right then. The overall results were not as good as I had hoped, but I assume they would argue that it is because my floors showed "excessive wear" which pretty much lets them off the hook for anything. To compensate for the excessive wear and the age of my floors (100 yrs) they told me they would tint the poly to help blend it. There are spots where the stain (tinted poly) overlaps creating a very noticeable line. In one area it is 1 ft by about 4 ft in length. There are also spots that missed the top coat of poly, or the mop or whatever they used ran dry, leaving scratchy patches. There are several areas where it looks like the chemical that they use to clean/strip the floors spilled leaving a bleached/water looking spot. I am guessing they would argue they were there already. In truth I can't say whether they were or not, but I don't think they were. The biggest complaint I had was that they decided the "throw in" doing my kitchen floor for me to make the two stain colors more consistent, but really from what I saw, all they did was throw 1 coat of poly over the existing poly. I know this because they polyed some dog hair into the floor. I feel like I can't complain too much about that one since I didn't have to pay anything extra, but I feel that if they offered to do it, they should have done it all the way.

We contacted Chad with Mr. Sandless after reading a positive review of his work on Angie's List. He responded quickly and agreed to go the vacant house to provide us with an estimate to refinish wood floors in several rooms. Chad stated that he might not be able to completely eliminate some of the deeper scratches, but stated that most of the scratching and gouges could be restored. We accepted Chad's proposal for the wood floor refinishing. In addition to his estimate, Chad stated that he does other remodeling project. After comparing his bids on remodeling the bathrooms, kitchen floor and finishing off a basement, we decided to hire somebody else for the work. Once we informed Chad of our decision, he became less responsive to our attempts to contact him. Without any notification, he entered the house with the key we gave him to refinish the floors. Once we learned from a neighbor that Mr. Sandless appeared to have been at the house, we asked Chad about the whereabouts of the house key. He stated it was left under the outside doormat. We requested by e-mail that the key be put inside the house at a safe location. Instead, Chad did not respond to our attempts of contacting him. We found the key in the garage the following week when we were in town.

"I AM VERY SORRY TO HEAR YOU WERE DISAPPOINTED IN THE SERVICE. I WAS UNAWARE THAT YOU FELT THIS WAY. I APOLOGIZE FOR THE FACT THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR OTHER PROJECTS. IF YOU RECALL, MY FATHER PASSED AWAY THAT WEEK AND I WAS ARRANGING A FUNERAL AND COULD NOT HELP WITH YOUR BATHROOM AND BASEMENT REMODEL. I AM STILL WILLING TO WORK SOMETHING OUT WITH YOU. PLEASE CALL THE OFFICE AND WE CAN TALK."

We asked Mr. Sandless to refinish the original hardwood floors before we had even pulled up the carpeting to see the condition of the floors underneath because the price was right. When Chad came to see the job, he told us that we wouldn't be happy with the results because the floors were in very rough shape. At that point, we agreed with him and Chad gave an estimate on getting new floors. Within the next week, we had new hardwood in the living and dining rooms. We were so happy with the appearance that we had them do two smaller rooms as well. The workers were pleasant and professional.

Chad came out to look at our floors and explain the process on 1/14/09. I was concerned that we weren't able to remove all the furniture. Chad said if we could remove all the smaller furniture, he could work around the beds. If we hired him within the next 2 weeks, he would double my coupon. I liked what I heard and he came out on Monday, 1/19/09. He and Jeff showed up 30 minutes early, which worked perfect. They got right to work scrubbing and buffing the floors and then applied 3 coats of water based poly. No dust or odor!! Very clean process. We were able to move our furniture back into the rooms that night. My floors are very old and had some pet stains and scratches that couldn't be removed but I think that adds character. My floors are now all sealed and shiny. The work is guaranteed and if we have any problems, Chad will come back out. I will definitely be calling Chad when we tear up our living room carpet.

Great. I also told him I had some carpentry work & he set that up for the same day. I left the house at 9:00 am came back from work at 4:00pm. Every thing was done and what a difference. The floors are so clean and shiny. The wood carpentry was great. They cleaned up wonderfully. I would highly recommend them.
