"The starting reading done by the house inspector was 7.1 - Very high. So we agreed to do the remediation because it really was a dangerous level. Chris came out to estimate the job within a day from our call to Radon Removal. He spent about 90 minutes taking measurements, checking the possible paths for the piping and coming up with a plan. Randy Weestrand, the owner had an estimate within 24 hours. It seemed a little high, but we were able to get the job done quickly (within a week) AND the 5 year guarantee transfers to the new owners. The Job was wonderfully done, and out of the line of sight of gathering areas, Plus we got a new radon reading. of 1.4. If Radon Removal hadn't accomplished their goal, they were prepared to install blowers and fans at no extra charge. Pretty Impressive."
When possible, the pipe is run to the garage, and the fan is in the garage attic.
When there is no way to get the pipe through the interior of the building, the fan and pipe will be outside.

"My relatively new furnace would not stay lit and of course it was after 7PM. Chuck responded right away and drove from Oakdale to Maple Grove (and back) in very dangerous road conditions. He was professional, courteous, fast and took the time to explain every detail. He even followed up the next morning before 9AM to let me know the work was covered by warranty! I am huge fan of AirTech and their maintenance service plan. Thank you Chuck!"

"Hal was easy to contact and prompt in his visit to do a walk through.  He listened to what I wanted and built a gorgeous structure for me that blended well with other structures on my property.  He was respectful and timely.  I highly recommend Hall Morris."

"The team was very professional, friendly and punctual.  I LOVE the bedroom and the tile in the bathroom.
This was my first time using a contractor and I learned some lessons that left a bad taste.  The original estimate for remodeling parts of a bathroom and bedroom was ~$10,000 (which included reframing 2 walls of the bedroom, sheetrock, knock down ceiling, carpet, and painting woodwork).  I did not realize that this was for low end products, which we wanted higher quality products. So I outspent my allowance for vanity, tile, carpet.  There were also other challenges that the team discovered that needed to be fixed and that also added to the cost.
To their defense, I was planning on using my own tiler, but last minute he was unavailable.  GCM quickly worked with me to get the tile done on my timeline but we never estimated the cost of that work in the original budget.  I also was not aware that placing stone tile was more expensive than placing ceramic tile.
lastly, I'm kind of a perfectionist with things and the bathroom light fixture, mirror, and vanity are not aligned

"*ORIGINAL POST* Overall we were pleased with the work and the workmen. The removal of the old electrical post in front was a nasty job and was probably more time-consuming than they anticipated. The addition of the exterior outlets was easily accomodated and they spent the time to get them in exactly the right place, which was appreciated. We were especially pleased with the porch re-screening - it's tight and hardly seems to be there now. Our only negative was that some of the painting was just a bit sloppy. The days they were out were very, very hot but they got everything done in a timely manner.

*FOLLOW UP* After about 10-11 months we noticed that the screen on the porch was coming loose, allowing bugs in. We started to call them and they stated that they would get us on the schedule to have someone come out and look at it. This happened several times but we never saw a repair person come out, nor did they call us back. I change my rating to a huge failure - an F - due to the lack of responsiveness, the poor quality of the work and the poor customer service."

"The fan was very loose. I sent bids to approximately 9 different companies. They all got back to me but the range of cost between them was very high. I had bids from $75 to over $200. Twin Cities Electric was willing to come on the day and time I needed them to be here and was on time. The services provided was excellent and the electrician was very pleasant and professional. He explained what he was doing and the cost involved with each step. He verified that the fan was working and that there were no wobbles before he left. We have had no further issues with the fan."

"The furnace took 4 days to get approved( not counting a Sunday) the others were quick but the water heater had to be ordered so without hot water for a week. One ceiling fan was easy but within a year their policy changed and They would not install the one I purchased and had to get a new one approved and then ordered online and took several weeks to get straightened out. Not sure who was at fault, AHS, installer or scheduling with renter. Fee is usually $75 per visit"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Since the cost of installing a ceiling fan is $250 for most homeowners, it might be beneficial to replace your existing fan if you are experiencing a significant repair issue, like a broken motor. However, for less expensive repairs, like a fan blade replacement, you’ll likely spend less on the repair than a complete fan replacement. Of course, if you’re looking for an upgrade or a new style fan, replacing it altogether is always an option.

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

If you’re replacing an old fixture with a ceiling fan, you usually won’t need a permit, but if your electrician runs new wiring for the fixture, you likely will need a permit. Building permits are necessary in most municipalities if you’re making changes to your electrical system, so even if you have partial wiring run to the area and need new wiring installed for added functionality, you’ll probably need a permit. Your electrician should be able to let you know if you need one, and they’ll typically file the paperwork for you.

Essential tools for ceiling fan installation include a ladder, screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a circuit tester. If the ceiling is angled or features unique configurations, ensure the availability of a compatible mounting bracket.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.
