"All Service Moving was exceptional. Great customer service - easy to schedule and flexible. Royce & Frost did an AMAZING job moving all of our very heavy and fragile belongings. They handled all of our requests and items with care and worked both efficiently and quickly. They were super friendly and very customer service oriented. I can't thank them enough for the GREAT job they did. I highly recommend All Service Moving for anything moving and/or storage related. And DEFINITELY request Royce & Frost to handle your job. "My gosh what a good experience. Seriously, with a mover!! The crew showed up right on time, were very careful about having runners everywhere they went (on a wet rainy day), wrapped and/or padded everything, and hustled non-stop. They asked me a number of times if I needed this or that done, or if they could help with something else. The whole move took the time they had estimated, not a bit of damage - which I find is rare! I wish I had a sixth star to give. This was perfect!"

"Overall a good job moving us from Orland Park out west. The dispatcher was a little hard to reach on the weekend but the actual moving crew worked hard."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Moving a house is a complex and labor-intensive process, which is why it can get so pricey, particularly if it’s a large home. In some cases, the house may need to be dismantled, moved in sections, and then reassembled at the new location, which can add significantly to the cost of the move. However, it’s typically less costly than building a new home.

Yes, you can use a dolly to move a treadmill, though you won't always need one. If your treadmill has wheels and you’re moving it to a different location on the same floor, you can likely skip the dolly. But if you’re moving it up a flight of stairs or to a new home, a dolly can help you move it more easily.

The maximum size of a tiny home you can move depends on your state transportation guidelines, but the rule of thumb is a maximum of 400 square feet. However, as long as it falls within the local limits for traveling on public roadways, you should be good to hit the road.

You can lay a refrigerator down to move it with a lot of padding underneath, but it’s best to transport it upright to keep the cooling refrigerant and compressor oil in place. These elements can cause blockages if not given time to settle before turning the fridge on.

If you need to lay the fridge down to move it, position the fridge door hinges so that doors won’t open while moving.

Just as moving a couch by yourself isn’t always a good idea, moving a heavy bed frame by yourself is not advisable. Doing so puts you at risk of injury, and you can damage the frame if you drop it or bang it while moving it. The best way to move a heavy bed frame is to enlist the help of friends or family or hire professional movers with the experience and equipment to move it safely and efficiently.
