"At no cost to me, McClellan Exteriors had me send some pictures then spoke to me on the phone and explained how I could do this on my own. Greatly appreciated! ?"

"We needed an inspection by a knowledgable pro with ventilation and insulation. We got great information back on what is causing some issues and how we can address it. Because they were so helpful and honest (without a hard sell), I will be using them again."

"I would give Keyprime Roofing an A+ rating. My first experience with them was when I had a leak coming down the wall of an extended office. I had asked another roofing company to check the roof of the office a year earlier when the leak was minor. They couldn’t find any evidence of a leak. However, the leak persisted and became substantial. That’s when I called William Shvets of Keyprime. He arrived right on time of the scheduled appointment, climbed up on the roof and took photos of where he thought the leak was coming from, which was the caulking along the flashing next to the exterior of the building. He had one of his crew return to re-caulk. A couple days later, after a hard rain, he called to make sure the leak was fixed. I noticed that there was still a slight leak, so he sent his guy back out again, which took care of the leak. This past fall, I had William come out and install heating cables on the main roof. I had some water damage to a couple of my inside walls. He patiently and thoroughly presented my options from least expensive (heating cables) to the most (entire new roof). I elected the least expensive which involved installing a couple more roof vents and running heating cables on all four corners of the house. William installed the cables efficiently so that I only had to use two outlets. He even came out later after the first snow to make sure they were working properly."

"The guys did a great job. Covered my garage and all items in it with plastic sheeting . I was impressed how clean it was when they left. Did not expect the level of service I received. Job was 5 Stars ++. Would recommend 3 Polar Bears Solutions LLC of Rosemont, MN of you are looking to upgrade the insulation in your home."

"Very thorough job!! Made sure we were happy with work!! Walked us through project when completed. Even when damage was caused they came and fixed it with no complaints. All good!! I think its made a big difference on heating and staying cooler on hot days like recently!!! Very happy with gutters that were also installed. Worth the cost as it means less issues in future. Yes I would recommend"

"The crews did a great job with re-roofing my garage, repairing the wood and metal trim around my garage door and replacing a seal. Their pricing was comparable to other estimates, but their proactive communication and responsiveness to my questions along with their follow-through until solid completion is significantly better than most other contractors I have had over my years of home ownership. Kris, the owner, was excellent to work with, and I would heartily recommend them based on my experience."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

The entire window replacement process, from the initial consultation to the final installation, typically takes between four and 15 weeks. This timeline accounts for measuring appointments, ordering, and manufacturing. On the day of the job, the physical installation takes about 30 minutes to two hours per window. A full-house replacement can take one to three days to complete. Factors that can extend this timeline include the total number of windows, custom sizes, complex window types, second-story installations, and any necessary repairs to existing window frames or openings.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

When you need new windows depends on a variety of factors, including the age of your windows, the age of your home, and the climate you live in. If you’re dealing with budget constraints, you don’t need to replace all your windows simultaneously.

When buying new windows, you should consider energy efficiency, safety, and aesthetics to choose the right window for you.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.
