Small jobs welcome

"I have been sick for 8 months with various lung , fatigue, EBV, breathing, I missed so much work my 13 plus year job fired me. So when I had this test done and found out that I had very high amounts of a asprigillius mold in my HVAC system and that there was a fairly easy inexpensive remedy and that I will feel so much better I was very happy of the choice that I made to hire this company. The company they referred me to to get what I needed to fix the problem was over the top helpful and could tell he loves his job. I have already referred to a friend who has already made an appointment. I can not wait to apply the remedy, it should be in the mail this week. Thank you Thank you Thank you."

"I woke up the morning of Oct. 21st, 2018 to find water in my basement unexpectedly. The carpet and pad were completely soaked and some bottom parts of sheet rock. I wasn't even going to attempt to clean it up myself with the potential of mold setting in. I logged onto Angie's List at 830am pulled up water clean up companies with a "A rating" and found Done Right at the top of the list. I called, spoke to John the owner who was very professional and knowledgeable. By 10am he and two employees were at my house with their van/equipment. They were only there for a little over an hour, they worked very fast, diligently and by Monday evening everything was bone dry. I do appreciate the timeliness of John and his crew. They were all a pleasure to deal with. Definitely will only be calling Done Right in the future if necessary, though I'm hoping it won't be :-) Also I thought the pricing was very fair. No one expects to wake up and have to payout money unexpectedly, though the price came in under what I had expected and I guess the silver lining is, that's what an emergency fund is for and I'm glad I had it."

"Carson was quick to respond to my request for services and we were able to schedule an in-person consult right away. We had a tight window to get the job done and he was right on time and got the job done in the allotted time and did a really terrific job for a fair and reasonable price. I would absolutely hire again and recommend Carson and Relax Restoration 100%."

"Chris was very professional. He inspected all areas of the property and took the time to explain all his findings. Had pictures of each item he examined and even offered suggestions on "how to repair" such items. Overall I believe he did an excellent job and would highly recommend him as an inspector to all. Also, very thorough and easy to work with."

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

The primary difference is that black mold (Stachybotrys chartarum) is considered toxic and more dangerous than regular mold. It can produce harmful chemicals called mycotoxins, which may lead to severe health issues like respiratory problems, skin irritation, headaches, and other long-term complications. While regular mold is rarely toxic, it can still cause allergic reactions and respiratory irritation. Visually, black mold often appears dark—green, gray, brown, or black—with a fuzzy texture, whereas regular mold can be almost any color. Black mold is less common and typically grows in areas with severe water damage. Regardless of the type, you should not ignore any mold infestation in your home.

It is common for mold to grow around air vents, especially in areas with high humidity or moisture problems. These vents provide a perfect environment for mold to thrive due to the condensation caused by the meeting of warm and cool air. Mold growth can be accelerated by the presence of dust and debris around the vents. Regular maintenance, proper ventilation, and addressing any water leaks or excess humidity can prevent the growth of mold around air vents.

Black mold appears in areas with constant moisture and has a slightly fuzzy texture. It’ll have a primarily circular pattern. While it’s known to have a black color, it can also appear dark green, or dark brown, although a few types include orange or white flecks. Identifying black mold is important because people who inhale the spores could suffer respiratory issues or neurological problems. Black mold is a toxic material and requires a professional to remove it.

Eliminating mold from wood permanently poses a challenge as the mold spores have the ability to deeply penetrate the porous wood surface. While surface mold can be effectively eradicated with proper cleaning and preventative measures, it's difficult to guarantee its non-recurrence under favorable conditions. To prevent mold from reappearing, it is important to identify and resolve the root cause of the moisture that triggered mold growth initially.

Ensuring appropriate ventilation and a dry environment, or consider applying protective finishes such as sealant, varnish, or paint to prevent future moisture penetration and mold growth. Consistently inspect and maintain the area to keep the wood free from mold in the long term.

Yes, exposure to fiberglass insulation can cause harm to your skin and eyes. However, this typically refers to the fiberglass insulation that is mostly used in walls and attics. Fiberglass doors don’t pose risks for fiberglass exposure because they're fully encased in polymer cladding.
