"The men not only fixed the problem, but labels my circuit breaker box and asked about a missing smoke detector. Very mannered. They were to arrive then 10-12. I received a phone call saying it would be closer to 12 so if I had some errands to run, I wouldn't be wasting time waiting. Simply put..customer service and service were excellent."

"I highly recommend Guardian for your chimney repair. They were responsive to all of my e-mail questions and prompt with their replies. They clearly explained the work that they would do and why and then put together a detailed estimate and stuck to it. Their price and warranty were better than the other companies that I got estimates from. The crew was on time, professional, and very efficient. They cleaned up nicely as well. The new rebuild is beautiful! Thank you Guardian!"

"Everything was done on schedule and on budget. The gentleman who came out to perform the initial inspection provided a great option that allowed me to get a larger insert for less money by going with a standard surround instead of custom (what was initially quoted in the store). I obtained three quotes and Fireside was the cheapest. They also provided the best option for routing the gas line, compared to the other quotes I received. The whole process took three separate visits due to a city inspection, but every appointment was on time. Staff was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

DIY is not recommended due to safety concerns. Professional installation ensures proper connections and compliance with codes.

Yes, most states require a plumber to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Check our state licensing tool to review the local plumber guidelines.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification, which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.

While it’s possible to repair minor grill issues like replacing a burner, more serious issues are clear indicators that you need to replace the entire unit. A few signs that your gas grill may be at the end of its life span and it’s time to consider replacing it include:

  • Rusty or cracked firebox

  • Weak, yellow, or uneven flames

  • Flaking, cracking grates

  • Leaking or cracked propane hoses

  • Failing igniter

  • Heavy buildup of grease

The most significant benefit of having a gas grill over a propane grill is that you never run out of fuel unless there’s an outage in your area, which is rare. Unlike with a propane grill, you’ll never need to haul tanks back and forth to a local fill station, and you’ll never find yourself unable to use your grill because you forgot to refill your tanks. Gas grills also burn slightly cleaner than propane grills, and natural gas costs significantly less than propane, meaning it’s more affordable to run your grill.
