"Major sewer line backup while visiting my sister in Minneapolis. Had called a "rooter" service that was unable to fix the problem. They said it needed to be lined. Luckily, I discovered the Dig Free team. They came out right away, gave me a quote (which was fabulous), and was able to start right away! I was incredibly impressed and relieved. Their service and work was great and everything was cleaned up too. I would definitely recommend Dig Free to anyone!! Great job!!"

"At first, as a new homeowner, it was very disappointing to learn that our **** pipe was broken and backing up into our house. I learned that it was also seeping into the ground and washing away the earth around the break. It didn't really get much better however Greydon and his crew at Integrity assured me this was a problem they could fix and quickly. I can honestly say that they surpassed any expectations I had going into the project! The crew was at my home and ready to work exactly when they said they would and were even able to work around my busy schedule. The yard was meticulously excavated, secured, the sewer line repaired and the dirt replaced in a single afternoon! These guys (and gal) are phenomenal! Nothing Compares to the service I received from ISS!"

"I called for an estimate in October. Chris arrived on time and gave me a written estimate. Between needing to have the city turn off the water for the water meter valve repair and my schedule, we had to wait until after Christmas to schedule the actual work. When I called Chris back to schedule, I was surprised that he didn't answer the phone by identifying his company's name. It threw me off to not know if I had reached the right person. He said he could get the permit for turning off the water. Neither of us had a calendar in front of us so I was concerned about whether he was actually going to write the job down on his schedule, especially since it would be a month into the future. I called a week ahead to double-check. He asked me to recap what it was he would be doing (was it just not handy or did he not write it down?). I reminded him that the water would need to be shut off and that the city would be closed for Christmas so he needed to contact them within the next day or two. He then wondered if I would need to get the permit, but said he would check on it. He called to tell me when to expect the city and when to expect him. Someone else came to actually do the work (that person said Chris was on vacation or out of town). Two other guys came to do the sewer line clean out. They asked me for newspapers; this surprised me. Why don't they bring their own equipment? Later I found the newspapers balled up in a corner. Overall, the work went fine. It's the little things that I found irritating. He turned the water back on and then went out to his truck (I think for a lunch break) but did not tell me until later that the water was back on. When I told him that the city worker had said he could take the key out and put it up by the house and put the cover back on (which would take all of about 5 minutes and would signal that we were finished) he complained about having to do their work. He moved and installed the dryer and the laundry tub and then asked me if I wanted the washer in front of or next to some pipes. I would have (and probably should have anyway) asked him to move the dryer and sink over a bit but he already had them installed. This would have made the dryer vent a straighter shot and allowed it to plug into the wall-now I need to get an extension cord. Why didn't he plan ahead and make sure it made sense before actually installing? I don't trust his assessment on the gas connector-I think he pulled the stove far enough to see the brass supply pipe but not to actually look at the connector. What really angers me is that one of the three of them used my guest hand towel as a rag and left it for me to find. I doubt I'll be able to get it clean. What a waste! Why don't they bring rags with them? If they had asked, I have a box of rags. That's blatant disrespect for property and seals my decision to look for another plumber for next time."

"

The clean-up was fine, it's the pricing that was concerning.

I was very disappointed in the billing and cost of the services Dry Air Restoration (Shakopee, MN) provided.  The first estimate came back at $1925.00, but once they found out insurance was going to cover the clean up costs, their bill jumped up to $3,686.52 for the exact same services as indicated in their initial estimate.  We were told by this organization, that if insurance was covering the claim, they bill differently than if the bill will be paid for without insurance.

I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable recommending a company that takes advantage of its customers like this.  Regardless if insurance covers the clean-up and repair, the work performed is the same.

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, you should not see water in a sewer cleanout. If you do, it could indicate that you have a block or leak in your main sewer line—which can cause sewage to back up inside your home and potentially flood your yard. Your best bet is to call a local sewer cleaner if you notice any water or sewage around your cleanout.

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

Roto-Rooter does not charge by the hour, so the quote you get after your in-person consultation should cover the whole project. This includes the time it takes a technician to get to your house and the time it takes to complete the job. For context, a plumber will charge anywhere from $45 to $200 per hour, but you may also pay a service fee or flat fee.

Using less toilet paper is the easiest way to prevent future clogs. Also, avoid flushing sanitary products, thick paper towels, or hair down the toilet. If you’ve been using a brick in the tank to reduce the water used to flush the toilet, take it out immediately. Bricks will eventually fall apart and clog your toilet drain. Keeping your toilet lid closed also helps avoid future clogs.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.
