I found water damage in the morning and after considerable investigation, determined that it was from a pinhole leak in a water pipe in the basement.  I had to turn off the main water valve to stop the leak, so I needed to repair this quickly.  I have used Burkhardt Plumbing before with success, so I called them again.  They were able to come that afternoon ( I called around noon) and Dean arrived within the promised time slot. 



He fixed the leak, and also advised me that it was probably due to insulation around the pipe which was held in place by small wires.  The insulation around the wire itself was decaying (probably installed 40 years ago) and could have caused an electrostatic charge (?) between the two metals which would corrode the copper pipe.  I appreciated this extra information, so that I can remove the rest of the insulation and prevent future leaks (the insulation was put on to prevent condensation and is no longer necessary).   I thought the cost of the repair was fair.

when finished the toilet worked perfectly & they also gave me a tip on how to use a household product to clean out the holes around inside rim of toilet bowl.

After searching for a plumber for quite some time, I've finally settled on Chris.  His prices are always fair, he doesn't charge a separate trip charge if he can't do the job right away the first time and he's very honest about what needs to be done.  I've used Chris several times now and have recommended him to friends.  Chris has repaired a gas leak, plumbed in a new sink and done the work mentioned above.  He's very responsive, can always fit us in on short notice and has never missed an appointment.  Chris's rates are very reasonable when compared to other shops that can respond as quickly as he does.  Highly recommend!

We had a deep clog in our bathroom sink that was unable to be touched by chemicals or our hand-crank snake.  I called Burkhardt Plumbing primarily due to prices shown on previous reviews and their hours available.  We scheduled an appointment for the next day.  When Chris arrived, he listened to what we'd done to date and got right to work.  He managed to disassemble the trap with no mess, and successfully unclogged our sink with a power snake.  As he was reassembling the trap, he noticed a small hole in the trap and replaced it on the spot for $10 extra (which was also the amount of our Angie's List discount, so it was essentially free).  Chris was very courteous and willing to answer any questions I had.  My only complaint was that he showed up about 20 minutes late to our appointment, but I was able to call him for a progress report and he arrived before his new estimated time.

I brought in several of the highest rated plumbers on Angie's list for bids so I knew they would all do quality work.   I then went with the lowest bid, which was Burkhardt by a landslide.  The bid I received from them was less than half of what the other top rated plumbers bid. 
They only have a few employees and they had one guy do all of the construction work at my house.  My project took 4 days which included breaking up the floor, running drain and vent pipe, running water pipe, and recementing the floor.
I was very impressed with the work.  When he came to the house I went over how I wanted everything done and he did everything exactly how I explained it.  I also made some additions to the scope of the project after he started and he took care of them with a "can do" attitude.  I needed him to reroute some existing water pipe and to install a shut off valve.  He also left my basement spotless when he was done with no reminents of all the cement and sand that was on the basement floor during construction.  I would hire Burkhardt Plumbing again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to anyone that is looking for quality plumbing work done at a fair price.

They offered to come the morning I called, though I had them come the following day.  My only complaint it that they arrived about 30 minutes after the scheduled time--understandable, but I figure 30 minutes past the appointment warrants a call.  However, just as when I'd used them before, they knew what they were doing and did it efficiently.  They were friendly, and the price and time involved were lower than I'd feared.  I like that they're a local family business with no subs.

I called Burkhardt and talked directly to Chris. The work I wanted done was:
Replace Main Line valve into house
Remove and install garbage disposal
Fix two leaky faucets with bleeder valves. One required replacement
Fix continuous running toilet
Chris and his associate completed all the work in about 2 hours. This included heading out for additional parts due to the unusual nature of my mainline valve implementation. All in all I have no complaints with any part of the service and I'd use them again. I did not ask for an estimate ahead or time or get any other estimates, but the price felt fair to me based on past work I have had done.

The installation was done in under 3 hours for both water softener and spigot installation.

Overall is went great.  Chris was professional and efficient.  I will call him again for sure!

Everything was done well and quickly!

I called Chris Burkhardt to give me a bid to replace an outdoor faucet that was leaking.  He was at my home within an hour.  His quote to replace the silcock and install a shut off valve was so reasonable I asked him for an estimate for the other items listed above.  He and his son, Michael, came over the following day.  They completed all of the work within a few hours.  I was so impressed with Chris, that I asked them if they could give my sister-in-law a quote for a leak that she had in her basement.  Chris and Michael went to her home right after completing the work at my house and gave her a bid.
Chris gave me a flat rate quote and that is what I paid (less a $10 coupon from his Angie's listing). I appreciated knowing up-front what the cost would be.

I noticed the pump was shutting off, and Burkhardt Plumbing was able to come out in a couple days and replace the sensor or switch. Chris correctly diagnosed the problem from the description I gave him over the phone and brought a switch/sensor with him. Very responsive, and I will use this company again.

Everything went smoothly.  I'm glad I had tested my circuit breakers & found the right one to turn off before they came.  That  made turning off electricity much easier. 

Also had a bucket handy for any water drainage from pipes if needed.

I would definitely call them again and would recommend them to my friends.  Their bill for labor was very fair and exactly what they quoted me over the phone. 

Great plumber!  If you're looking for an honest, thorough and affordable plumber I wouldn't look any further.

 I had problems with low pressure in my hot water.  I got three estimates and the other two guys (Southtown and Roark) insisted on replacing all the hot water steel pipes in the basement right to the water main for $3000-$4000.  

Chris had a much more reasonable approach.  He gave me an estimate with three choices 1)re-piping the first 10 feet or so, 2)re-piping all the hot steel pipes in the basement and 3) re-piping all the hot and cold steel pipes in the basement.  He was very flexible and said that he would try the least expensive option first, then if it didn't work, he would try the 2nd and 3rd if necessary.  He had two of his employees come out to do the re-piping.  It turned out that the least expensive option worked great, so I only had to spend a few hundred bucks.  Compared to the other estimates I got Chris saved me $2000-$3000.  Also, his estimate for repiping all the steel pipes was still less than half of what the other guys wanted to do the same work.  Chris came by after the piping was done and also fixed my problematic kitchen faucet for only an extra 50 bucks while he was here.  I'd definitely use them again.

We realized our plumbing issue on a Sunday, and we called on Monday morning.  Chris from Burkhardt came out the same afternoon we called and replaced the pipe within about 45 minutes.  He was on time (within 10 min), and he was nice to my nosey beagle.  I would call them again.

It went fine once the problem was cleared up.  As noted above, Chris came out twice and made sure the problem was corrected.

They offer excellent services and fair prices.  They’re a very honest company.

They are really fast about returning phone calls and they are fast and efficient.  I have used them before and they are really good.

Heater was in a tight space and Chris replaced it without any question or complaint.  Price was below was right on estimate and lower than other quotes.  

Chris did a great job. He was here an hour after we called him on a Sunday!
