"Ben Lindow installed two exterior doors recently in my 1927 home. It was a difficult and complicated job, as the house had non-standard sizes for things and has shifted and moved as all old homes do, but Ben patiently worked it all out, and now we have two beautiful, well-fitted, secure and weatherproof doors on our home. I could not be more grateful. Definitely would recommend his work, and he's a nice guy, too."

"Refinish exterior side of 2 entry doors using my garage as shop space. New stain & multiple coats of varnish applied. They look like new again after multiple coats of varnish applied & properly cured. New weather stripping installed as needed & doors are secure and properly functioning. I provided light assist moving/installing doors and propane heater during cold weather. Unplanned cold snap added to drying time & heat expense."

"One structure in the form of a arbor with a gate completed our fence.
The other structure a small deck outside of the lower sliding glass doors, with a pergola added,
gives a quiet shady respite to the yard.
We also had Hal design and build a fountain feature added to the garden area itself.  Which gives a soft
and flowing water sound near the small deck.
The work overall is outstanding with a very finished look.  It was also accomplished as per estimate of
time and cost.  They were very considerate to make the work space neat and clean each day at finish
       time.

We would "highly" recommend these contractors to anyone wanting this type of excellent yard work done.

"Larry did an absolute fabulous job with everything, especially the install of the screen door.  The opening was less than perfect but Larry made sure the door fit to perfection.  He was also able to fix the soffit so it's now back in place and replaced the piece of siding so it should not come down again.

Larry also was able to give me a bid to finish a bathroom project that I've started and am unable to complete on my own.  The bid is extremely reasonable and Larry and I decided he'll be back to do the job this Fall.  I can't wait and know he'll do an equally a great job as all the others he's completed already."

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Combining pest control with other home upgrades in Bloomington is a practical way to streamline projects and minimize disruption. For example, schedule pest control alongside insulation improvements, foundation sealing, or landscaping changes. This approach helps address exclusion needs, reduces the number of service visits, and can prevent future infestations by sealing entry points while other upgrades are underway.

Helpful?

In Bloomington, homeowners should consider factors like proximity to the Minnesota River Valley, which increases moisture and wildlife activity. Homes near the airport may experience unique pest introductions, while older neighborhoods often face established infestations. Seasonal changes bring different pests—carpenter ants in spring, mosquitoes in summer, and rodents in fall. Local ordinances also limit certain pesticide applications near storm drains to protect water quality.

Helpful?

For Bloomington’s climate, use weather-resistant baits that hold up in freezing temperatures, flexible polyurethane sealants for exterior cracks, and moisture-resistant products for basements. Copper mesh is effective for exclusion work, especially against mice and bats common in the area. Granular treatments work well in local clay soil, and eco-friendly options like beneficial nematodes are useful for managing grubs in Bloomington lawns.

Helpful?

During pest control in Bloomington, unexpected costs can arise from structural repairs due to carpenter ant or rodent damage, moisture remediation in basements, or wildlife exclusion for animals like raccoons. Severe infestations may require additional treatment cycles, and removing pest-attracting landscaping can add to the workload. Some advanced treatments may also require city permits, so it’s wise to plan for these possibilities.

Helpful?

Your Bloomington home is likely a good candidate for pest control if it was built before 1990, has mature trees, a finished basement, or is close to wetlands or the river. Signs such as foundation cracks, persistent moisture, wood-to-soil contact, gaps around pipes, or evidence of wildlife activity all indicate a higher risk of infestation and a greater need for professional pest control.
