"These guys take your money and if they screw up they drop you! They took my filter cover off then put it in incorrectly so the filter wasn’t running properly then when I told them about it and that my water smelled like mildew they dropped us! James is a complete jerk! I told him my sick daughter needs a clean hot tub as that’s the only relief from excruciating bone pain and he said she shouldn’t be going in the hot tub and continue to say he can’t “satisfy our needs” so we were dropped immediately! Our needs was simply for them to do what they were hired to do, and we were even nice about it but he was a complete jerk! Avoid!!!"

"Schmidt Electric Inc was one of the best experiences that I have ever had working with any company. I will never hire another electrical company besides Schmidt's ever again. Mark and his team were incredibly responsive and friendly. Mark came up with creative solutions to give me exactly what I was looking for, and did so for an excellent price and quick turnaround. I showed my father (who is an electrical engineer) a solution that Mark completed for me, and he was so impressed that he immediately did the same thing to his own house."

After years of working for companies that provided poor customer service and a poor quality product, Sean Perron formed Twin Cities Resurfacing, with the simple goal of doing good work for good people. As a company that survives and thrives on referrals, we aim to provide the highest level of customer service, and the highest quality finished product. Being a company that customers keep coming back to time and time again is a result of the simple approach we take to customer service. It might seem cliche, but we do in fact treat people like we would want to be treated. We are the experts, so we will help guide and advise you every step of the way. We will be upfront and honest with our estimate and not underbid to get in your door and then overcharge you later. We have been painting and refinishing for nearly 20 years, 9 as Twin Cities Resurfacing alone, so we truly are professionals. We take great pride in our work from set-up to clean-up, and we want you to be 100% happy with our final product. We know that remodeling, painting and construction projects in your home or business can be stressful - did you hire the right company, are you paying too much, will they do a good job? We strive to eliminate your anxiety, and replace it with the excitement of knowing that you are making your space unique to you.

"Great. Great job at controlling dust. End result looks like new. I have textured ceilings so he had to redo the entire ceiling. I would recommend them."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Where you drain a hot tub largely depends on local regulations, but you must not drain chemically treated water where it can damage the environment. Direct the water toward a sanitary sewer drain that will take it to a treatment facility. If your lawn has a dedicated drainage area that’s free from plants and foundations, you can likely drain it there. Avoid storm drains, as the hot tub water will enter waterways and could hurt aquatic life. Likewise, do not pour it out directly on any public land or where it can get into your neighbors’ property.

Unfortunately, a hot tub does use a relatively large amount of electricity. In fact, much of the money you spend on your hot tub will go toward electricity costs to keep the water heated. A typical hot tub will use anywhere from 1,500 to 6,000 watts of electricity per month.

If your hot tub is well-maintained, covered tightly, and the water is balanced and sanitized correctly, it can remain unused for up to two weeks without significant issues. Beyond this period, the water quality may start to deteriorate, potentially leading to the growth of algae and bacteria. However, it's crucial to note that this timeline can change due to factors like water temperature, sanitation levels, and the quality of your hot tub cover. Regular maintenance and water testing are essential to ensure the water remains safe and clean during periods of inactivity.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.

You can drain a hot tub very quickly by using a submersible pump rather than the hose-sized drain at the bottom exterior of the tub. A pump can move up to 30 gallons per minute, draining your hot tub in no time. Using the regular drain can take up to two hours.
