The Lamp Mender is a lamp retail and repair service located in Bloomington, Minn. We can repair or restore almost any lamp, including antiques. We stock fixtures and lampshades and reproductions of all types. Our restorations have graced homes in the upper Midwest since 1984. Whether you need to restore an old floor lamp, clean and rewire a chandelier or you are simply looking to replace your current lamps or lighting fixtures, we can help. We had a couple of multi-bulb ceiling light fixtures, that were failing. On one fixture, only 2 of the 4 lights worked. The other fixture, 3 of the 4 lights worked. I brought the fixtures to The Lamp Mender to have them repair the faulty sockets. Upon pulling one of the fixtures out of the bag and showing it to the gal at the shop, she knew exactly what was needed. She stepped into the back room and returned with a new replacement 4 socket set and showed me how easy it was to replace them. For less than $20.00, I had my replacement parts and was on my way back home !!! I fully expected and was ready to leave my fixtures at the shop for a couple weeks while they evaluated and repaired them, while paying much more for the job. They are very knowledgeable, honest and helpful, which is rare these days. I have another much larger kitchen chandelier that has some faulty sockets as well. I will be bringing that in to The Lamp Mender too. Awesome fast and friendly service. Thank you ! !

"Thank you for your review. Given the small size of the dimmer, I am sorry that the 500 watt dimmer was not available. Only a 200 watt dimmer is available in that size. We apologize for not notifying you of the change. We could not determine the size of your part until we took the lamp apart.. Underwriter's Labratory has gotten very strict on floor lamp halogen wattages and the max recommended now is 190 watts in a new upright floor torchiere for the home. We have only safety in mind with the change."
