Small jobs welcome

"I had an amazing experience from start to finish with Star Bath Systems! From the beginning, the customer service was excellent. Once I started with the project designer to come up with a plan for my master bath remodel - she was so knowledgeable & helpful that it made the design process a breeze. When it came to remodel week, they were not only extremely timely, but also very clean… what a relief! The grout and tiles came out so pretty and I was so incredibly happy I went with them! Thanks again, Star Bath! Highly recommend!"

"Footprints Floors did an excellent job installing my kitchen ceramic tile backsplash. Gary, the owner, arranged a time to look at my project, discuss what I would like done, made suggestions and answered all of my questions. His quote was very reasonable. He explained the process of the installation, how long the project would take, etc. He was in communication with me and gave me updates as the project moved forward. Gary is very personable, reliable and I got the sense that he truly enjoys meeting people and takes pride in providing excellent workmanship. I cant say enough good things about the installer. He was polite, precise and a hard worker. His attention to detail was impressive. He prepped the area and cleaned up the area when he was finished. His workmanship is outstanding. My new backsplash is stunning. I would not hesitate hiring Footprint Floors in the future."

"I couldn’t be happier with my experience with True Stride Flooring and the backsplash they installed for me. Mike, the owner, was incredibly helpful in facilitating the project from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, responsive and made sure I understood my options every step of the way. The actual tile work was done by his dad, Kevin, whose commitment to top shelf craftsmanship truly shows. The attention to detail and pride in his work resulted in an absolutely awesome finished product. Their quote was very competitive, but what really sold me was their depth of knowledge—and the fact that they let me benefit from it rather than just pushing a quick sale. Even when it became clear that the project was more involved than they initially estimated, their commitment to quality never wavered. The extra time needed was put in cheerfully, and the end result speaks for itself. If you’re looking for tile work professionals, I highly recommend True Stride Flooring!"

"We used CK Tile & Stone.  They did a wonderful job and went above and beyond in putting things back and even fixing some minor items (like hanging closet doors straight, and replacing hoses on the toilet.)  Chris was great to work with, as well as, his workman.

"Tim called me right away to schedule a time for estimate. He was punctual and the quote was exactly what I was looking for in terms of the approach to repair my loose floor tiles and the price for the work. Tim got me scheduled right away for the repair work. The repair technician showed up on time and did the repair. He explained to me how the repair would be done and was details oriented in his work."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

The number of shower niches you need (or want) depends on the size of the shower and how many bathroom products you plan on storing. If you keep it simple with just soap and shampoo, the one shower niche will probably do the trick. But if you’re adding scrubs and soaks, you may need to think about installing two or more.

Grout and caulk are commonly used together, especially in bathrooms. Grout goes between the tiles and keeps them sturdy and in place on the walls or floor. Caulk goes in corners or where two different materials meet (like where the bathtub meets the tile) to create a waterproof seal. However, they are not interchangeable—you shouldn't use caulk to adhere tile and shouldn’t use mortar if you need a waterproof seal.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

On average, tiling a bathroom involves about 12 hours of labor, usually spread over two to three days to accommodate prep work and curing times. A professional tiler can often complete the installation in 6 to 8 hours, whereas a DIYer might take 10 to 16 hours. The total project time is influenced by factors like the bathroom layout, tile type, and necessary prep work, such as removing old tile. The process includes specific timelines for different areas; for example, tiling a floor takes about six hours, while a shower area can take six to ten hours. It is essential to allow for adequate curing time—typically 24 hours each—for the mortar, grout, and caulk, which is why the project extends over several days.

Professional installation ensures a uniform, durable surface, and proper sealing, and guarantees workmanship quality, preventing future issues linked to water damage or instability.
