"OUR SERVICE MANAGER WENT OUT TO THE CUSTOMER'S HOME AFTER IT WAS REPORTED THERE WERE SCRATCHES IN THE WOODWORK. OFTEN, NON-SOFTBACK CARPETING CAN CAUSE SOME MINOR SCUFFS ON BASEBOARDS DURING A STRETCH-IN TYPE OF INSTALL. FOR THIS REASON, WE NORMALLY LIKE TO RECOMMEND SOFT BACK CARPETING ON REMODEL JOBS SO THIS DOES NOT OCCUR. (WOOL CARPETING DOES NOT COME WITH THE OPTION OF SOFTBACK, THEREFORE WE COULD NOT OFFER IT FOR THE TYPE OF CARPET THIS CUSTOMER SELECTED.) OUR INSTALLERS SHOULD KNOW AND ALWAYS TRY TO BE AS CAREFUL AS POSSIBLE. AFTER OUR SERVICE MANAGERS INSPECTION, WE SENT THE ORIGINAL INSTALLERS OUT TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE. THEY TOUCHED UP SOME OF THE SCRATCHES BUT THE CUSTOMER OFFERED TO TOUCH UP THE REST. IN THIS INCIDENCE, WE MENTIONED THAT THIS DOES HAPPEN SOMETIMES WITH STIFF CARPETS (IT MAKES IT HARD TO PREVENT RUBBING ON BASEBOARDS AND WALLS) BUT WE DIDNT MEAN TO PLACE BLAME ON THE CUSTOMER. WE DON'T BELIEVE IT WAS THE CUSTOMER'S FAULT AND TRIED TO MAKE IT RIGHT."
