"We hired BMK Asphalt Repair and Paving LLC to repair and sealcoat our church parking lot. They did a great job in all aspects of the work, from providing a quote, scheduling, and completing the work. We are very satisfied with their work, and would hire them again for any future job."

"Domenico Brick Paving and Landscaping, Birmingham, MI, just completed rebuilding our brick entrance steps and relaying the brick sidewalk to our residence. From the initial work appraisal to the final completion every person we dealt with was professional, courtesy and took time to listen to our concerns, provided suggestions and completed a project we are extremely pleased with. Everyone arrived as scheduled. The crew that completed the work were excellent and did an outstanding job in constructing and laying the brick sidewalk. They took extreme care in making sure that all work was done with care and concern for the surrounding area. The cleanup was exceptional. I highly recommend Domenico Brick Paving."

"John is very responsive to any question or concern. He took care of all the organizational work and even helped me respond to questions our HOA board had prior to approval. He also encouraged me to contact him if I had additional questions. The work crew was led by Rene who is extremely talented and paid particular attention to detail. Besides paving our patio, they removed a tree, graded the patio so it wouldn't slope toward the condo and added drainage. I could not be more pleased with the result and would readily recommend Clean Cut. In addition, I am more likely to use Angi's to find additional professions for home projects."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, a paved or repaved driveway can boost your home's value by increasing its curb appeal and the functionality of your outdoor space. A new driveway can add anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 to a property's value. An old, crumbling driveway can be a red flag for potential buyers and inspectors.

The amount of value added depends on the materials used, the design, and local market conditions. Concrete is often cited as adding the most value due to its long lifespan, though asphalt may be more desirable in colder climates. The return on investment is greatest when replacing a driveway that is in poor condition; repaving a driveway that is already in good shape will not yield as significant an increase in value.

Driveways should be sloped with a minimum 2% slope—anything lower will cause precipitation and runoff to collect. A 2% slope is the equivalent of a 2-foot rise over 100 feet. One quick way to check the integrity of your driveway’s slope: no more than four inches of water should collect on the surface longer than 15 minutes after rain.

The layer of polymeric sand under the pavers plus the polymeric sand that gets swept into the joints between your pavers holds them in place in a few ways. For one, the gritty texture of the sand helps lock the pavers together. Polymeric sand also contains bonding agents that get activated by water. Polymeric sand will take between 24 and 48 hours to fully cure, so do not walk on your paver walkway before this time.

Professionals restore the surface to a fresh, attractive finish by applying a new, even sealant layer.

Building a road on a slope requires careful planning and will normally require a drainage system underneath to prevent flooding and damage to the road over time. Your professional may lengthen your road to create switchbacks if the slope directly to your home is too steep, as there are regulations for maximum road slope. The drainage system will help prevent runoff from the higher side of the slope from damaging the asphalt or concrete. Keep in mind that building a road on a slope isn’t a good DIY project, as a lot can go wrong.
