"The response time from the first inquiry was excellent. The technician was very polite, knowledgeable, professional , friendly and knew exactly what I needed and wanted done on my gas fireplace. He worked in a timely fashion, and was very aware of keeping all dirt , etc., onto a covered area so my carpet stayed cleaned. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone that needs repairs, parts, a new fireplace, etc. to their fireplace. I have already scheduled my yearly inspection for 2024. Very pleased and thankful for Dennis Hearth & Home. Great job!"

Emergency services offered

We are a family owned company and have been in business since 1980. We offer a variety of services for any client within our service area. Sometimes we even go the extra mile to take care of people, especially in the winter months! We won't leave anybody cold. We have around 3-4 employees as we try to keep costs down for our customers. They are reliable and trustworthy and we enjoy having them around. We sub-contract only if needed. Our billing requires 50% down payment at the start of the job and the remaining balance is due at the time of completion. If the customer lives outside of our service area, we will charge for an estimate. But only if it is a long trip that would cost alot in fuel expenses.Otherwise Estimates are free.we rarely ever have to charge for an estimate. We are a great bunch of people and would love to have you as a customer. :)

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

Yes, many chimney professionals offer cap installations to prevent debris buildup and animal entry.

Yes, installing a skylight can impact your roof’s structural integrity and may void the roof warranty if not done correctly. Cutting into the roof weakens its waterproof barrier, and improper flashing or sealing can lead to leaks and long-term damage. Many roofing manufacturers require skylights to be installed by certified professionals to maintain warranty coverage, so it’s important to check your policy before installation.

Take a look at your roof shingles from the ground or from a ladder, and look for cracked or missing shingles, which are the most obvious signs of roof damage. You should also look for pockmarks from hail and blown debris, as well as blisters that could indicate a moisture issue or a problem with the installation. Inside your home, be on the lookout for water spots on the ceilings on your upper floor, as this is a clear sign of a roof leak.

If your homeowners insurance company has required that you get a roof inspection, they’ll cover the cost. Roof inspections are actually quite common with home insurance policies, as the insurer needs to understand the risk they’re taking on. However, if you get a roof inspection of your own volition, you’ll need to pay for it out of pocket.

Fall is widely considered the best time of year to replace a roof. The moderate temperatures are ideal for roofing crews to work and for new shingles to seal properly. Additionally, autumn weather is often drier, reducing the risk of weather-related delays compared to the rainier spring season.

While spring is also a viable option, the higher chance of rainfall can slow down the project. The main drawback to a fall installation is that it's the peak season for roofers, which can lead to higher prices and scheduling challenges.

To potentially save money, you could consider scheduling your roof replacement during the summer or winter off-seasons. However, both seasons have significant disadvantages. Extreme summer heat can make shingles too soft to handle, while winter's cold, snow, and ice can create dangerous working conditions and prevent shingles from sealing correctly, as they typically require temperatures above 40-45°F.
