Small jobs welcome

"After dealing with another contractor which insisted that the only solution to our issue was to break out the flue tiles, line the chimney and install a new smaller wood stove, Eli from Absolute Chimney proposed â PCRâ treatment of our chimney to address heavy creosote glazing. Three treatments later, we had a chimney that was clean as a whistle, no liner needed, & no new stove necessary. We are ecstatic with the results (and huge cost savings). Eli was knowledgeable, helpful and really committed to helping us. Weâ ll be a return customer without a doubt!"

"The response time from the first inquiry was excellent. The technician was very polite, knowledgeable, professional , friendly and knew exactly what I needed and wanted done on my gas fireplace. He worked in a timely fashion, and was very aware of keeping all dirt , etc., onto a covered area so my carpet stayed cleaned. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone that needs repairs, parts, a new fireplace, etc. to their fireplace. I have already scheduled my yearly inspection for 2024. Very pleased and thankful for Dennis Hearth & Home. Great job!"

We are a family owned company and have been in business since 1980. We offer a variety of services for any client within our service area. Sometimes we even go the extra mile to take care of people, especially in the winter months! We won't leave anybody cold. We have around 3-4 employees as we try to keep costs down for our customers. They are reliable and trustworthy and we enjoy having them around. We sub-contract only if needed. Our billing requires 50% down payment at the start of the job and the remaining balance is due at the time of completion. If the customer lives outside of our service area, we will charge for an estimate. But only if it is a long trip that would cost alot in fuel expenses.Otherwise Estimates are free.we rarely ever have to charge for an estimate. We are a great bunch of people and would love to have you as a customer. :)

Chimney Inspection questions, answered by experts

You can secure roof decorations like inflatables and other Christmas decor by tying a rope or attacking bungee cords to your roof clips. Depending on the pitch of your roof, you can use sandbags for extra support. Like with Christmas lights, avoid using staples or duct tape.

EPDM roofing has exceptional waterproof capabilities, so water pooling on an EPDM roof typically isn't an issue in terms of leaking. However, water should not sit on the roof for more than 48 hours, as it can become a significant problem that requires immediate attention. To reduce the risk of damage, any EPDM roof should have a proper drainage system. If you notice ongoing issues with water pooling, you should call a roofing professional to check for underlying problems like a clogged roof drain or structural shifting.

Meshed fiberglass tape is your best option if you want to tape up a leaking ceiling. Even then, that is not a permanent solution and you need to address the root cause of the leak. Also, you still need to apply drywall material on top of the tape and repaint the ceiling, instead of leaving the tape exposed as-is. Finally, this method only works on minor leaks and as a band-aid solution.

Skipping the installation of a drip edge or gutter apron can lead to significant water damage. Without this component, water is more likely to seep under roofing materials or leak behind gutters, damaging the fascia, soffits, siding, and even the interior of your home, such as the attic. Over time, this moisture can cause rot, mold, and deterioration. In colder climates, a missing drip edge also increases the risk of ice dams, which can lead to expensive repairs. A drip edge is an essential part of a roof's drainage system, and some local building codes may even require its installation to protect the home from water damage.

Roof inspection companies sometimes need to be licensed, but it depends on the state and local municipality where you live. You can contact your local building department to see if licensing is required and use Angi’s contractor license lookup tool to confirm that the company holds the proper licensing. It’s also a good idea to hire a roof inspection company certified by the National Roof Certification and Inspection Association (NRCIA), as this helps ensure you’re getting a professional and reliable inspection from a company that is recertified annually.
