"Some of the work I needed done was painting of 3 exterior entry doors, but the weather wasn't feasible 2 do in November. Those would need 2 be done next year in warmer weather. He did get the 12' of trim that needed 2 be replaced completed. The door he made out plywood 2 block off the upstairs from the main floor works. The plywood was warped. I didn't ask 4 anything fancy and that is what I got. The hinges and door closure are fine and work properly. James did some work on 1 of my 2 dogs kennel. He reinforced 2 sides of kennel with extra bracing 2 ensure the dog can't get out. James did a great job on this! James was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable on the work that was done. I would use his handyman skills again. I've attached pictures of the door and the kennel work. Thank u."

While it’s most common to sand plaster dry, it is possible to wet-sand plaster, too. Doing so can reduce the amount of plaster dust released into the air and make it easier to work in smaller, more delicate areas (such as around wall trim). Depending on the quality of the plaster and the moisture in the building, plaster can last over 100 years in some cases. It may develop cracks in some places, but many find it aesthetically appealing. As long as no structural damage affects the plaster and maintenance is being performed—mainly repairing small patches and addressing water damage—plaster can last a long time.

Plastering comes at a higher cost than installing drywall, but it also provides some pretty enticing benefits. First, plaster usually lasts longer than drywall, so long-term costs will usually be lower. Second, plaster is a highly insulative material, so it might help make your living area feel more comfortable and keep your heating and cooling costs lower, especially in the summer and winter. Finally, plastering is naturally textured, so it helps hide imperfections and often adds warmth to your home that drywall won’t.

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. If the same type of sagging occurs on a ceiling, however, you could be in danger of your ceiling falling in large chunks. When plaster sags, it loses its strength and ability to hold itself up. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.
