The work was fine. The one thing that happened is they accidentally messed up some of our plumbing underneath our house during the project, basically a pipe came loose about a week after they were gone. But, they did pay for the repair.

There are several markers of a reputable business: quality of product and cost are obviously important, but so is integrity and the willingness to stand behind the work performed. Rand R impressed us in all these aspects.

Our home is a drafty Michigan farmhouse and in order to increase energy efficiency, we decided to insulate the crawlspace. Rand R is business local to us--and we prefer to use local businesses whenever possible. Customer service was prompt and professional and we are happy with the job they performed.

What especially impressed us is this: our crawlspace is very narrow--one literally has to crawl on one's belly to move around in it and there are a variety of pipes that run through it. Following the installation of the insulation, we discovered that pipes had come apart at the joints in two places and we needed to call a plumber to repair them. I do not believe this was the result of negligence at all.

When I reported this to Rand R, they did not argue. They promptly covered the cost of the plumbing repair. They stood behind their work and I commend them for this. Accidents can happen and the mark of a business with integrity is that, when they do, they are addressed fully and appropriately.

For this reason--as well as for the good service we received overall and our happiness with the service provided--I give them an unreserved recommendation.
