"The whole job went very smoothly. Derek was very professional, and came here to work. We have been searching for a local handyman to take care of projects around our new home, and we believe we found the right guy for the job. Will hire again! Did excellent work"

The job is only done when it's done right, it's not only common courtesy, it's common sense.

We are a small local construction company that has been in business since 2002. We special in additions and remodeling.

"Work was fine until we decided to add on French doors to replace existing sliding. I showed him the doors I wanted (via Lowe's website) and he said he would order & install them. The weather turned cold and he agreed to finish in spring. This was the final part of the project. CV-19 hit and once construction re-opened, he came to see the site, said it would take one day for installation of the doors... and then never returned any calls, emails, etc. I held back $500 from the total bill to ensure completion. He has the rest of the payment for the porch in full PLUS the never installed French doors ($1200). NOT TO BE TRUSTED."

Jones Construction is licensed in Michigan and fully insured. Normal billing procedure is 50% down at the start of the project and the remaining 50% at the time of completion. We do accept Visa and MasterCard. Estimates are always free.

"Project was completed at a reasonable cost, to an agreeable schedule and the crew was very professional. Subsequent to this job, I have contracted Jones Construction to complete two additional jobs."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

There’s no reason why you can’t install a ceiling fan anywhere in your home, such as in living rooms, offices, bedrooms, and dining areas. Most bathrooms already have ventilation and don’t need a ceiling fan. For safety purposes, avoid installing a ceiling fan where the blades will be less than eight feet from the floor, near bunk beds, or anywhere else they may hit nearby objects.

Many ceiling fan-rated electrical boxes tend to be made of metal. However, some electrical boxes may also be made of heavy-duty plastic that is reinforced with metal support structures. It may also have an attachment that connects directly to a ceiling joist. If you are ever ensure, consult with a licensed professional to get their insight on best practices and whether the installation is a safe one.

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs.

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

Most ceiling fans have a lifespan of anywhere from five to 15 years or 10 years on average. Just how long your ceiling fan lasts depends on the quality of the parts, how much it’s used, and how well you maintain it. A fan with a weak motor that runs on the medium setting nonstop is likely to have a shorter lifespan compared to a fan with a powerful motor that runs on the slowest setting for air circulation.
