"Chuck was friendly, professional, and respectful in my home. He cleaned the floor tile and grout in my sunroom and color sealed it afterward. I originally wanted to eventually get new tile, but chuck did such a good job that Iâ m happy with the tile we have! He made it look brand new!"

"Extremely knowledgeable, experienced professional. Did a wonderful job cleaning our carpet (even got out the cat urine stains!), as well as polished our hard woods and cleaned the grout in our shower stall, all for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be using them in the future."

"Chris - gave us a quote of 3 hours for $150. I met the two cleaners who were very friendly and punctual. They completed the work in only 2 hours and our house look fantastic. Dropped the price to $125, too. The female cleaner even went out of her way to change the shelving inside our fridge to make it more efficient..so much better! Can't say nicer things about the whole team and I highly recommend to everyone to use Beacon as your house cleaners!!

"It was set up that they would be here from 11-1 on Monday the 28th to perform the work. Monday comes and the door bell rings at 9am, two hours early. The two men at the door stated they were ther for the duct cleaning. I informed that I did not order a duct cleaning but I did order tile cleaning. They stated okay and that they provide that service as well. They looked at the job I needed done and stated they would contact me to reschedule. I thought I would receive a call within a day but havent heard back since and it is now Friday. I feel that these people do not stand up to the Angie's List status. They didnt know what job they were doing or the correct time of the appointment and now they are unresponsive as well."

Grout Tile Cleaners questions, answered by experts

Discoloration, cracking, or water absorption marks are key indicators that grout needs attention.

Clean your silicone caulk at least once a month to prevent mold and dirt buildup. In high-moisture areas like bathrooms and kitchens, you may want to clean more frequently, such as every two weeks, to maintain the caulk’s integrity and prevent potential water damage. Regular cleaning ensures that your caulk remains effective and your home stays mold-free and well-maintained.

To clean grout, you must know what your tile can handle. Ceramic and porcelain grout do well with acidic cleaners or a baking soda paste made with warm water, but stone floors require less aggressive cleaners meant for stone surfaces.

To clean the grout, apply the cleaner to a toothbrush, scrub the grout, and then wipe the entire area clean with a damp towel.

Caulk and grout are two different materials with different purposes and should not be used interchangeably. Grout is used to fill the gaps between tiles; it hardens to keep them sturdy and in place on walls or floors. Caulk, on the other hand, is a flexible, waterproof material used to seal corners, cracks, and edges, such as where a tub meets tile or around windows for weatherproofing. Caulk can also be used to temporarily repair damaged grout.

It isn’t expensive to change grout color, especially if you opt for a grout pen, dye, or stain to do the job. It will cost more if you want to fully remove the grout and redo it, but this method also means the new color will last longer than painted grout. You’ll spend less on frequent dye or pen touchups if you redo the grout entirely.
