"I needed to get new floors in my home and I could not be happier with the work Naim and his crew did when installing my new flooring. Naim and his crew were prompt, professional and extremely knowledgeable. They quickly and carefully removed furniture from each room and got to work immediately. Carpet is most often affixed to the floor by tacks in tack strips rather than nailed or glued directly to the subfloor. The tack strips are nailed to wood subfloors. Even if you want to install carpet over concrete, you’ll adhere the tack strips to the concrete with masonry nails or a liquid adhesive.

In order to avoid long-lasting waves, indents, or sticking, it’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after fresh carpet is laid to put weighty furniture on top of it. However, you can begin walking on your new carpet right after it’s installed, and doing so can actually help it adhere to the floor better.

For rooms with an even number of feet (10 x 12, for example), you can technically just multiply them together to get the number of square feet in the room (10 feet x 12 feet = 120 sq. ft.). For irregularly shaped rooms or areas that aren’t even square feet, converting to inches will be your best bet for an accurate measurement.

Avoid placing carpet in the bathroom or the kitchen. After all, moisture is no friend to carpeting. Beyond that, it’s down to personal preference. Some people dislike when a garage or basement features carpet, but others enjoy it.
