"John was excellent in every step of the process of replacing a 2nd story, double pane, ~42.5" x 51", cracked bedroom window. Starting with a timely return phone call to set up an appointment for a quote, and finishing with a great installation of a new window, John kept me informed of the status of things along the way, which I always appreciate as a project is "in process." He let me know when the glass would be ready, when he had available installation times, etc. Jags Glass & Window Repair was excellent, and I would use them again, and also recommend them to friends."

"4-Ever Watertite waterproofed our home in 2012, exterior and interior. The outside east, west and north walls weredug up manuallydown to the footing. (These sides represent the main part of our house built in 1938; the south side is part ofan extension to the house built in 1965). The porch was removed (later replaced by Madison Maintenance LLC).  New draintiles were installede with 4in. draintile with sock.  Bleeder onwalls were flushed out so water would flow.Delta board installed from footing to grade. 6 mil Visqueen, trowel grade tar used.  Edges treated with eucalistic sealant and moldings, mortar joints repaired inside and out.  Fabric installed over stone, dirt and topsoil, basement window recaulked.
Mr. Bob Gray and his crew were professional and efficient and we have been please with the result of their work.  They have also straightened basement walls for us-separate review.

"They did a good job, except the young lady that worked with him wasn't very tidy and didn't clean up well. She did a good job and got the varnish off. I liked the young man's work. They should be more cautious about cleaning up behind themselves. As far as the work was concerned, they did a good job. They did exactly what I wanted them to do, so it was a fair price. They were here at the time they were supposed to be."

"Kyle Adkins, the owner, did the first part of the work. He moved the heat run in the kitchen floor one joist over so it would be centered in front of the new sliding door to be installed at a later date. Kyle also began the first part of construction to modify the existing window area in preparation for a larger 6 foot wide sliding door. He did an excellent job in a professional manner. Originally, all the work for the heat run and sliding door installation was to be done in one day however we needed the work to be split so the new floor could be installed prior to the sliding door. Kyle agreed to split the job for us. The two men who installed the sliding door on September 18, 2013 were very polite and and answered all of my questions along the way. It was a big job because the window opening had to be enlarged and framed in to accommodate the sliding door, along with moving an electrical plug and install an outdoor light and switch. They did an excellent job with the construction, installing the new sliding door, all the trim work and the finish for the exterior vinyl siding and trim. Also did a great job with the final clean up. They seemed to enjoy their job and were still very upbeat when they left. I would highly recommend Kyle and his team that installed the sliding door.

FAQs for egress window service projects in Riverview, MI

The cost to install an egress window is $3,900 on average. This cost can be as low as $2,500 or as high as $5,300, depending on the window size, the number of egress windows installed, and the glass quality.

Double-pane windows average between $200 and $500 per window, whereas single-pane windows are more cost-effective at $100 to $400. More luxurious triple-pane windows are more expensive, ranging from $300 to $800 on average.

It can take up to three days to install an egress window. The window installation team will typically spend the first two days excavating the land where the window will go. If you’re replacing an egress window, it will be spent cutting the foundational wall to accommodate the window, if needed. Often, a window inspection is required to verify that the window was sized and installed correctly.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.

Not only does an egress window add value to your home, but it’s also a basement requirement in most areas. Egress windows offer a 70% return on investment, making them a worthwhile purchase and installation. In addition, most building codes require an egress window to be used as an emergency exit and entrance. Therefore, it is a necessary addition to meet building codes.

There are a few ways to save money on egress window installation. First, choosing pre-fabricated windows instead of custom windows can help dramatically reduce the overall cost. In addition, skipping window extras, like customized frames or window film, can help save money on the price tag without sacrificing the window itself. You should also shop around to multiple window installers to find the best installation deal without sacrificing the quality of the window.
