We are so thankful for everything she helped us from cabinets to floors,to wall paint to counter tops, and interior decorating the inside! "Stradinger (Tim) & Bobby far exceeded our expectations! Never hired a contractor before. They did the design; executed the construction; always were prompt, courteous & patient with us (VERY PATIENT). Despite the near zero weather, they were here. The attention to detail and quality were exceptional! Stayed within budget which afforded us the ability to put in new flooring; new laundry room; insulate the attic and many details & ideas that really makes our home OUR HOME. I would strongly consider & recommend Stradinger Building to EVERYONE!! COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!!...THANKS TIM & BOBBY!!!"

"Patricia is an amazing interior designer that can transform any room and make it extraordinary. She listens to you, devises a plan with several options, based on price and style, all while paying attention to detail that put her designs over the top. I have worked with Patricia and her team on several rooms in the past and am currently working on a kitchen and family room. I can not wait for the â WOW!â end result. I highly recommend Patricia and her team."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

Look to the professionals when figuring out the secrets to styling a bookshelf. Place decor in varying heights, mix colors and textures, and always create a balanced overall design by alternating where you place extra decor items. Most importantly, don't overfill the shelf. Leave a bit of open space to deter clutter.

Universal design is a design concept that states that products, spaces, and general environments are designed to be used by everyone, with an emphasis on accessibility for those with limited mobility or other special needs.

Options include blackout, sheer, and thermal curtains in various fabrics and styles.

Before hiring an interior designer, ask a few questions to better understand how they work, what’s expected of you, and what they promise to deliver.

  • How long will the project take to complete?

  • What type of services do you offer?

  • Can you provide a project estimate?

  • Do you work with subcontractors?

  • Are you licensed or certified in this state?

  • Do you have a portfolio of previous work I can review?

  • May I contact your customer references?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • How do you handle payment?

Mid-century modern design focused primarily on two things: simple, functional furniture, often with geometric shapes, and specific color palettes that included earth tones and what we’d today call retro colors. Furniture often blended different materials, like teak or oak wood, with vinyl, metal, and glass. Common mid-century modern paint colors included browns, reds, burnt oranges, yellows, aqua greens, and whites.
